I completely agree - they are incredible. I went back home over the weekend, because Frances looked as though she'd be heading straight towards Tallahassee and I wanted to get out, but where I live actually ended up seeing more of her than my FSU did!
It was so neat, there for a while, there was a hurricane about ten minutes from where I live...My dad and I went outside and just watched the winds roaring by. Everytime I see or hear something like that, I'm just struck with awe...It's amazing!

Any of you folks every experienced a hurricane?

I vaguely remember Opal. I was five or six at the time and we had no school for a few days because the power was out. It rocked.

When you say hurricane, I have to say "Here I am, rock you like a hurricane." ...That is all.

I think they should name each tornado like they do hurricanes.

I've never experienced a hurricane but I've been within a mile of tornado destruction without ever actually seeing one. It's fun living in a trailer on the outskirts of a city in Kansas.
