From linkfilter.net (http://linkfilter.net/?id=59934)

"...an amazing new mashup of various hip hop vocals and audio samples laid over classic Queen tracks"

The creator's page (with a torrent) is here www.kleptones.com/pages/downloads_hiphopera.html

There's a mirror here too http://waxy.org/random/audio/kleptones_opera/

I'm d/ling it now so can't comment yet...

Oh my. This is probably going to be really bad :-P But I can't resist having a listen. The titles are certainly uh, interesting.

Thanks for the link! (I think)

Hmm, I kind of like it so far. I also have a strange feeling that some of my own karaoke re-edits were used ;)

Not what I expected. Very well-made and there's some really cool historic sound clips. I never dreamed I'd hear Larry 'Bud' Melman talking over 'Keep Yourself Alive'.

I am not a fan of hip-hop, but if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it to Queen music!!I'll have to admit, it's entertaining!

Actually it's right before Keep Yourself Alive.. the guy who says "This is a rock n' roll museum. You guys don't belong in here" Maybe it's not him but it's sure a similar voice.

He's a goofball that used to make himself look like a moron for David Letterman. Real name is Calvert DeForest.

You can see and hear him here:

I listened to it today. Pleasantly surprised. Very polished mix.

So, anyone else now have this in high rotation on their iPod? This is one of those mixes that just seems to get better on each listen.

Certainly not the most innovative thing I've heard, but it's damn catchy.

Has Brian or Roger commented on this yet?

Nothing gets high rotation, that's the point of having 3000 tracks on there.

But yes, it's quite good.

Has anyone heard if Rog or Brian had any response to this?

I think Brian only commented that he hasn't had time to check it out yet, but it was linked from his site not long ago.
