On a lighter and more positive note regarding comments about Queen from other people...

What people have you guys met that you never expected that they liked Queen, but were very surprised and pleasantly overwhelmed to find out how much they like the band?

While I was taking this interactive presentation & digital editing class, I made this project with music videos from different bands and artists where you would click on a button and get information about the artist, plus music videos, pictures, and audio clips. One of the bands on my presentation was Queen, and my teacher said... "Queen was an awesome band, they had such great songs".

I've also gotten a lot of great comments from other people, perhaps too many to mention but that particular one in class stands in my mind.

My mum and dad went to parents evening at my school many many years ago and my geography teacher, Mr Allen I recall, asked why my project was so poor and my mum just said, "Sean has started getting into a band called Queen and all he does 24/7 is listen to them, we will confiscate his records!"....... "Thats your choice" he said, "His project was appauling but hes got a superb taste in music!!!"

God he was such a miserable git, I was shocked when my folks told me!

I've been trying to think of some..there was this one bloke who was the toughest of the tough.. used to bash up bikers, punch holes in walls, go to bars to get into fights. He was so tough he had glass shards in his Coco Pops. Anywho we happen to know each other by way of a mutual friend. The topic of music came up in a conversation and I asked him what he liked. Said he 'Oh, a lot of stuff. G 'n' R, Metallica, bits of Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Tool, The Darkness, you heard of them, Pink Floyd but the best band I can think of I listen to is Queen'.

I nearly shat myself.

'Wow, me too. What songs do you particularly like?'

He pondered for a while then said:

'Love of My Life, it makes me cry sometimes'

Again, I nearly expelled brown.

'Yeah, really good song. Excuse me. I need another drink. Or 9.'

We speak about it every so often.

I was in a soccer team email list a long time ago. And in this list there were two lovers, the guy used this nick: Monroe's widower. And the girl, Mercury's widow. I didn't say nothing until i asked her what her fav song were. And she told me "My Melancholic Blues".
So, no doubt about it, she was a Queen fan and a San Lorenzo fan. Just like me! ;)

When I went into work with my mother at a school library (not the school I go to...) I brought my laptop which was inside my laptop bag that I neatly made a cool collage of different Queen pictures and the person that my mom was working with saw it and said, "You like QUeen?" and I told her how obessed with them I was and showed her my dvds that I brought and she said how she would like to see them some time because she likes Queen. Unfortunately I never came back into work with my mum she she never got to see them... : (

My math teacher likes Queen. He was telling us today that one of the things he regrets is not seeing them in concert. It's great that he's a fan, so he doesn't mind us going on tangents and singing Somebody To Love. It's always great to hear someone's a Queen fan. Just shows you they've got good taste. :)
