I'm using CoolEdit Pro V1.2 and I'm worried about the counter in the bottom right hand of the window - the MB free counter. This obviously decreases as you use the functions on the program. What happens when it reaches 0MB free? Is there anyway I can free some space up, or delete files so I get more MB free?

Many thanks!

This number in Mb is telling you the available space on your hard drive or you're partition.
Obviously, the more files you delete from them, the more Mb you will have available.

Hope that helps

To a lesser extent, you could also delete the files with .pk extension. These are created each time you open or save a file.

Thanks for your replies!

> Yeah, in your menu on the far left, right-click on a title and select 'close files' after you're finished with it.

Sorry, I'm a bit thick, I can't seem to find this! :-) Could you tell us in abit more detail please?...

Does this alievate the MB free or just cut down on the amount of MB used?

It just cuts down on the amount of MB used - although these files are usually very small.

Another thing you might want to consider is saving the files in a lossy format(like MP3) or burning the uncompressed files to CDr or DVDrw discs

Again, does this cut down on the MB used or free them?

In the settings under system it says something about temp directories, but I can't seem to delete the files in here to free up space... :-S

Has anyone ever got down to 0MB free? What happens, does tje programme still work?!

VERY. Sadly, the trial just expired! So I'm stuck with a dead program for now. What's worse is the fact I don't have a personal Internet connection at home, so I need other people to look for me, sadly :(

Richard, I went through this same problem trying to get the program to register Cool Edit Pro. Finally I found the whole thing in a torrent and got rid of the first one. All I can suggest is that you try to find it in one bundle like that.

It's an evil thing companies are doing.. making you acquire a separate program to register. Like they expect people to pay for software! Idiots! :-P

I think I've been very stupid about this, thinking it was something worse than it is! This just tells you how much space is left on your hard drive?

Richard - how much better is Audition over CoolEdit?

Put it this way: It's loads easier to figure out and actually get to work than CoolEdit Pro. CEP sucks compared to AA 1.5 (plus, AA 1.5 is an upgraded version of CEP, since Adobe bought the rights to the program recently)

Could you forward it in a zip file to my e-mail address kyogroudon2@yahoo.ca please? If you can, that'd be awesome.

It's on its way. The reg. program I mean.. the whole thing is about 20 MB, so way too big.

The Library, as usual. (I don't have a private connection at home, actually - hence the reason I'm only on QZ for 1 hour, almost every Mon-Fri)

I know what that's like! A couple years ago my old computer fried and I had to use the library for a couple weeks.

When I was waiting for my new computer to arrive, this one night I waited til 7 pm, the last possible UPS delivery time in my area. So I headed for the library. When I got home, I had a notice from UPS. If I had waited another 20 minutes I wouldn't have had to go to the library and would have had the computer a day earlier!

Now I always check the tracking on my packages :)

Hey DF, could you be a a dear and try to help me out with another program I need a pass or crack for?

The program is DVD-lab PRO Beta 6. I at the very least need a username and password for it.
