Hi dear Queenfans

When I download FLAC-Files, my Computer (MAC OS X) downloads the files in 1 - 5 KiB/s. This is so slow that it'd go 2 days till I downloaded just one concert...

How can I make it go faster and why is it downloadin' so slow?

Thanks for any help!!

If I look at the statistics on my current torrent:
The average upload is around: 285.4 KB/s

I know this is not completly accurate but this means that this is generate by 28 computers (8 seeds and 20 peers).
So if your download is shitty this means there really is a problem on your side (this can be your internetprovider or your own computer).

The more seeds and peers the faster your download goes, and this is a fact!
I know that on your software you can say how much bandwith it may take for the torrent to download.
This I need to install otherwise on some torrents it was impossible to work on my computer or even to surf on the net for the other computers in my network.

Good luck!

No this is not true, I am uploading to a max. of 5 peers at once. My average upload is only 40Kb/s otherwise I'm not able to go online anymore.

But because everybody is downloading and seeding at the same time. This the average download speed that you see in the statistics is higher (so not my 40 Kb/s). So this means the more people that keep on seeding after finishing the download and the more people who are downloading are connected to the tracker the faster your download will go...

That is why BitTorrent is working so nice ;-)

Okay, first of all: Thanks for all this answers.

My Internet Explorer seems to have problems with this page..when I'm now writing somehin' here in this 'box', it needs a half minute till I've written one line. And the reason for this isn't that I'm writing so slow ;). When I've written it, for every letter it needs some seconds...

But, of course, this isn't the only browser this computer has. there's also one called Safari and I'm gonna try downloading a concert with this here...

One more time, thank you...and please excuse my english..I'm Swiss. ;)

Black Knight I think it's time to reinstall your Mac...

I don't have any problems typing here...

And the average upload speed is up again (348.2 Kb/s) because there are more seeders now.

Other question what BitTorrent client do you use?
