I'm going to try this topic here, seeing as the boards on IMDB are filled with frustrated losers. (Who are obsessed with film, and not Queen!)
I'm a filmmaker. But there are so many people today who want to be filmmakers, it's hard to get work noticed.
There is, however, one group who seem to have an advantage on the field: the rich kids. Rich kids are able to afford the expensive cameras that will make any crap story look half decent. They have the money, also, to send their films out to many different film festivals.
Even if they're completely talentless hacks, rich kids have better quality porfolios, that, because of their money, stand out against the thousands.
I'm at film school right now, and most of the people here have cameras costing in the thousands. What do they do? Film the hallways, and the sunset, and bollocks like that.
And they're the ones that get noticed!
And it's just not fair that working in film has become class oriented.
