I have read, on this site and others, Body Language being pretty much universally trashed as Queens worst song, or Freddie worst moment, or whatever....call me (stone cold?) crazy, but this song actually kinda WORKS for me....its not one of my favorite Queen songs by a longshot (thatd be something like Liar, or The Prophet's Song) but I wouldnt say I hate it, at least.....

Well...it's good. I think Hot Space is on my top 20, but after the 70s stuff...

Worst song released by Queen, next to 'Party'.

Well it seems that it is not that bad at all. It reached #4 in the Dutch Charts.

It reached #11 in the U.S., but it still sucks.

Yeah, well, BL isn’t any jewel in crown, but I should say, that Delilah with all that miaaauw is worse IMO.
But now it's time to be gone - forever...

you can't really compare Delilah with Body language. Delilah was an (understandable)indulgence... whereas Body language is just awful.

It's not musically a great piece, but it works for me. It has something... I love it.

I wouldn’t say any word against Delilah, if it’d be on Freddie solo CD. But it is on Queen one (and more to it, on such good as Innuendo is) and it really bothers me. No more, no less.

donbosco_03 wrote: I cannot say it is the worst, but it is a fun song, sort of like a song to be taken lightly. As Freddie said, if you don't wanna listen, then fucking go home! If you don't like Body Language, nobody forces you to! You're very harsh with your words. People have their opinions, so don't try to force yours onto us. We're not all supposed to like every Queen song, and if you do, then that's unnatural and pathetic. MY opinion? 'Body Language' sucks. YOUR opinion? You like it. Life goes on.

I don't mind Body Language. Sure, it's not the most lyrically amazing song they've done, but it's good for what it is.

Im trying to remember what I thought of this song when I first heard it. To be honest, I dont think I thought much of it, it was just ok. But I do remember wishing I could see the video for it, because it had been banned. Some 20+ years later, I eventually get to see it, and what a disapointment, not even a flash of a boob.

I think Hot Space in general is nothing too wonderful. With the exceptions of "Las Palabras" (which is one of my all time favs), "Put Out The Fire", and "Under Pressure", I haven't listened to that album in years. Definitely my least fav album.

I was listening to the Sheer Heart Attack album today, and that song "She Makes Me" (?) came on, and there was all that syncopated heavy breathing, and it reminded me of Body Language, even though it's a rock ballad instead of a funky thing. But they're both "me me me la la la pant pant sigh." I actually prefer Body Language, but, as someone said, chacun a son gout. --Egret

It has a good beat but the lyrics kinda... sucks. Even if I like it a lot live with the drum intro and hearing Freddie and Roger sing it together

The song is kinda funny and John's bass work is very good, there are worse songs like Seaside rendezvous or Party

Personally (as everything concerning favourite songs and stuff), in the context of Hot Space I think it works. An album always creates a certain atmosphere and overall sound, let alone due to the recording habits or the producer at the time. And even the not so good albums have their own kinda atmosphere. Thus I am not a fan of this "reworking thing", as an album compiled of songs from, say, Hot Space and AKOM just doesn't sound right... anyway, thats another thing. On Hot Space it's okay. Tissue-Song.
