Hi Hoekei Azman right here... if am not mistaken it was the fact that they just wanted to make the song light hearted they stuck in the words fried chicken on it....

personally to me at the time Queen realised that song lyrically would truelly hit those who are judgementive crtical and politically driven, almost like a dictotarial view by having it best with one of everything, although it was postiviely layed out in the song some would find it a dark dictated vision of a song,,, so what better to end by really going through all that for a fried chicken,, i think its Genius!

Fried Chicken = Gebraden Kip

It also reminds me of the classic Turtles hit, "So Happy Together". At the end, the title is repeated, but after the second time, instead of saying "so happy together", the lyrics are "how is the weather?".

Perhaps Freddie and the gang didn't want to say "one vision" so many times in the song, so they played with it, and came up with "fried chicken".

We can only bow to the here and now

Just to clarify one thing: Hutton heard them do it this way and suggested they keep the ending like that. He didn't come up with the idea himself.

And it amazes me how such a simple thing generates so many discussions. It is what it is.

Well, if "Fried Chicken" means FOOD, and the song was "based" on Live Aid, maybe there's a connection there?

That's my point! maybe Queen wanted to say something about food on the song (because of the starving people in Africa) and did it in a funny way: "gimme gimme gimme Fried Chicken"......
Am I making ANY sense?? :-)

Ofcourse there no secret meaning behind the fried chicken line.

I heard somewhere it was a message to his gay lover Jim Hutton. If you want to give me something don't give me AIDS, just gimme gimme gimme Fried chicken!

In the album the lyrics is written as "gimme gimme gimme One Vision", isn't it?
