I am not a member of Queen On-line. Far too prohibitive and Stepford for my tastes - but then again each to their own. (Better to stick with Queenzone!)

"Bull*cks" I hear you say!

But I am NOT the only one to say that Queen-on-line is over-modrated - I "borrowed" that from the Queen-on-line clientelle...

http://forums.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=14519&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=john+stuart&start=15

SParker: "Theres a lot of very interesting topics going on over there ("Queenzone")... more so than here I think. The "powers that be" don't have any control over there!"

So there you have it - if Queen-on-line customers feel over-moderated, who am I (a non-member) to argue? so my questions are:

Is Queenzone better because it is "unauthorised"?
Is Queen-on-line overmoderated?

Just a question - no malice or hidden agenda intended.

QOL's full of kids. And I'm afraid QZ's starting to get filled of those little bastards (no offence).

An interview? Oh, don't be ridiculous...

Depends on what are you awaiting for. You know, sometimes I'm really tired of new Queen fans who spells Freddie's name as Freddie or ask stupid questions. But on other side QOL is 'official' and this word sounds so respect. Anyway I check QZ more often than QOL!

No it's not over moderated. It's an outdated perception that cannot be changed now though, it's too late.
Some people are 'Stepfords', some aren't...just like here really.
Yes there are a lot of kids at QOL, there are lots of kids here too.
Nothing more to add really...other than to thank John for raising this topic, and providing evidence from one source..wow, such fairness John.

Both sites have arrogant twats (more so now I've resumed posting at QOL), irritating children, and incredible imbeciles.

Which is a shame.

FD: Nothing more to add really...other than to thank John for raising this topic, and providing evidence from one source..wow, such fairness John.

Oh come on FD, I could have pulled more. Our own Lester wrote in QOL about QZ:

"what makes it so nice, because we can get away with posting random things and also voicing an opinion without a moderator getting in the way and tapping us on the shoulder, saying "Tut tut, stay on topic!" while waving a finger... Very liberating".

http://forums.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=14519&start=30

Take a look at some of the other threads on there like "An explanation for your frustation", or "The point of £9.99 bootlegs" for example. The point is I did NOT write those things - they did. I am not a member of QOL - they are. That is point of the question - IS THIS JUSTIFIED? No other reason.

This was an honest question, not a tirade against one site or the other. Please do not make me out to be some sort of QOL "Anti-christ" simply for asking a genuine question.

No matter, I agree with your statement on QOL: "There are some interesting topics over there, there are some crap ones too...pretty much the same as this board if you ask me.

This confirms what PG has written above: "Both sites have arrogant twats (more so now I've resumed posting at QOL), irritating children, and incredible imbeciles".

I think that is pretty fair - isn't it?

I have just noticed points on QOL I also agree with...

http://forums.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?t=14575

Stayin_Power: "I guess unreleased Queen material is like oil - it's a limited resource, and one day it will run out."

Kes Titan's Troubadour: "Probably The Beatles anthology sets were the benchmark for how artists should release their non-master archives".

Both of these sentiments are echoed in my own threads (especially about the box-sets).

Couple with that the fact that I enjoyed Zeni's thread, and in there I suggested (although I have newly been informed that this was not an original idea) that both cells could "unite", so that the chorus of "100 Greatest Bootlegs" are sh*te could be amplified - you will see that I have nothing against QOL. Here is that very mail:

" ...can actually find out how representative Queenzone is... Then perhaps if these "cells" unite - that muscle may be able to influence opinion."

http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q_FORUM_ID=1&Q_FORUM_NAME=Queen&TOPIC_SUBJECT=Should+QP+listen+more+to+QZ%2fQOL%3f&Q=408845&page=1

However, personally, I feel more comfortable in here (but each to their own).

John I just don't know what to say...other than what a load of old tosh!
I realise that QOL has this image, and I realise that it is too late to alter it, but it is so unfair.
Never in my three years of tantrums, arguments, multiple deletions and tears of laughter on the keyboard at QOL have I ever been told to keep on topic, or been moderated...I really do think you are being unfair here.

I like better QZ, cos there are more interesting topics in here than on QOL. But I also post on QOL and don't think it's really overmoderated. So, John and fd, please stop arguing every time you meet online. I've got a feeling that fd is still upset for John's reply in the In My Defence thread. Let's please forgive the old matters and focus on the new threads, now as the GB era is gone and all's quiet.

i think there's plenty of room in this world for both - if not more - queen forums.
and both are incredibly similar in many ways -
just look at how many times the same banal questions are asked! - and how many postings are made to wrong headers/threads/sections

let's not get snobbish about this...QOL is official, QZ is more of a fans-for-fans setup. both have their place...and BOTH provide a worthwhile service
