I'm working on the English version of my Romanian Queensite and trying to translate into English many of the stuff I've put into it. I've got a lyrics analysis section on it and I'd like to have the lyrics of some songs (eer, it's quite a number: 81) on the site, together with their analysis. I've got the texts, but... I was wondering what I should do to have the right to display them in a legal way. I don't want to receive a mail from EMI one day telling me I'm compelled to close my site due to "illegal use of the lyrics on a website".
Oh and what's more important: is there a FREE way to do it?

I dont know for sure. Perhaps you could get in touch with Brian at his site. Better from the horses mouth so to speak.

OK, thanks guys, it seems it's very compliccated... yeah, I think I'll try to write to Brian in his soapbox - if he'll be so kind to waiste his precious time replying to my mail (instead of chasing orbs). Hmm, I think I'll write down some lines about how great his musical is (though I've never seen it) and I'll send him some pictures with orbs (I guess I've got some, else I'll fake them)... But there are so many sites featuring lyrics! I wonder what the webmasters usually do in such cases...

Brian cannot allow you to reprint the lyrics, he does not own the rights. Remember he had to obtain permission to share the "Last Horizon" back track on his website himself. If you want to have it perfectly legal you have to try to get permission by the EMI publishing Ltd who own the rights. They won't allow you to reprint the lyrics for free, anyway. It's very unusual that websites get in trouble for using lyrics and if anybody complains, they write you a letter first before taking any legal action.

I do not want any google ads here.

Thanks Barbara, for sparing me the trouble of writing uselessly to Brian!
Hmmm... I can't afford to pay, so I'll really have to think seriously whether to reprint the lyrics and hope no one will notice or give up the idea and content myself only with the lyrics analysis...
If you were me, pals, what would you do? Though choice, isn't it?
