Well, the Live AID 4-DVD box has arrived.
Great sound and image.
The introduction of Queen by Smith & Jones has been edited out (why?) but the audio of <edited> Is This The World We Created has been corrected so no errors there!
Finally that track is corrected the way it should have.

Great purchase!

Yeah I've pre-ordered it and looking forward to
watching it.

Rien - just how good is the sound (DTS) and picture quality. Is it a major improvement?

Its a shame they edited out the Intro by Smith and Jones (Here in the UK they symbolised the nafness of the 1980s!) They too were part of the occasion.

Can't wait to get it! I think I may have to wait until the holidays, though, as I'm pretty broke. Hmph.

The picture quality is just great. I have just seen the parts where Queen is involved and skipped through other parts of disc 2. I could say it is perfect, but others may give more structured info on this. I'm just very satisfied with what I've seen. It sure is way better then my videorecording on my tape of 1985. :-)

The sound is great too. I still do not have DTS but a widescreen tv with 7 built-in and 2 sattelite speakers. My first impression is that it's ok.

I've seen the American acts being introduced by e.g. American actors (those were not edited out) so I really wonder why Smith and Jones were not included. I thought they were really funny about that complaint about the noise by a Belgian women... and their joke about Status Quo. Besides that, Mel Smith is a huge Queen fan...

So... happy to read more of you are going to order this DVD. There's also some footage during the show about the suffering in Africa. Makes you realise again there's more to it than just good music and big names.

This Live AID DVD-box is also truly a historical document to have due to the participation of all those artists.

I'm getting it for X-mas, by the way how did The Who, Bryan Adams, U2, Bowie and Mick Jagger did it?

I must have played them all.

I definately want this DVD. I watched the event live (on tv i mean) and only have four hours worth of performances on an old VHS. This release will be awesome!

I agree about DVD and TV. I have the first two seasons of 24 and am contemplating the old classic The Prisoner. Pretty pricey though.

24 Boxsets are good value because the series is so good (and long!) Season 3 was especially good!

I was shopping yesterday when all of the sudden I was the Live Aid DVD. I didn't knew it was out to buy yet! Of course I bought it, and I loved it. I never saw the whole show of Queen and I must say I was stunned! They WERE the best band there that day!:)
