Totally agree with you!! I imagine Montreux the way it's described in that song... So I think it is about Montreux...

I personally think that the song echoes the thoughts and feelings of a man realising that the end is near and appreciating the beauty of the world around him, remembering his own fun and laughter resonating from the sounds of the young children. He also appreciates and see's the beauty of his surroundings and is thinking 'why haven't I noticed this before?', those mountains "..zoomin' higher", a "..breathtaking scene". And maybe there's sadness in that he'll never have another "cosy fireside chat.."

It's an absolutely gorgeous song. Every time I hear it, I want to go and visit the statue and Duck House and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Some day, one day!

Maybe Freddie liked winter and wanted to write a song about it. I think it's quite moving.

This song is about Montreux. When I listen to this one I always imagine this extraordinary place... It is bliss...
