I had the pleasure of meeting David Richards a few years ago during the Montreux Jazz Festival and sharing a pint with him.

A bloody nice bloke if ever there was one. I was just wondering if any other queenzoners had met him too. I think its fantastic that he makes himself available when he can to meet regular Queen fans like us, and considering how close he was to the band he has so many great tales to tell.

David you're a legend!

Anyone agree....................?

I met him briefly in 2001 when I was on holidays in a town near Montreux. Ofcourse I visited the studios and talked with David briefly.

I also met him in the summer of 2002, June 13th to be precise. I remember the date since Mexico played against Italy in the World Cup. I was in Montreux for the tour of Mountain Studios and the Lake House.

He had the flu that day so he couldn't meet us at the time agreed but he did later in the afternoon. It was so nice of him to do that even though he wasn't feeling very well.

On the other hand, I wanted to visit Chateau Chillon (the old castle in Montreux, by the lake) and I couln't do much apart from taking a picture outside the castle because I didn't have enough time to take the tour. Anyway, that wasn't the reason I went there in the fist place, right? haha :)

David is a really nice person. I didn't ask him any particular question but listened to what others had to say and then greeted him briefly and had my picture taken with him. It was great to be there and it is so sad that there are no Mountain Studios anymore... :(
