I just finished watching the Live Aid DVD and couldn't be more proud of being a Queen fan. Queen's performances were the best, and our boys
totally dominated the audience. Especially Freddie.

However, there's one thing bother me though. Why on earth they put Mick Jagger and David Bowie's "Dancing in the streets" in this set of DVDs? I don't think it's Live Aid or famine related. Anyone can help me out here?

Well I'm a proud fan of Queen even without the Live Aid DVD!

Queen are the best band, and they're still underrated!

I really agree with you!
And I'm also very proud to be one of the Queen fans. The more I see it, the more I'm moved and the more I want to say "Thank you, Freddie, Brian, Roger, John! Freddie, you are still the KING!"

Yeah I remember when Live Aid was first shown on TV a lot of my friends dismissed Queen as being gay, and made stupid music. After some of them seen how Queen blew everyone away with their performance, my friends had nothing to say.
What a moment!!!! Everyone at my job who seen the live aid concert still talk about that one Queen performance.

Exsqueeze me?? Dancing in the Streets was specially made for Live Aid! Jagger and Bowie wanted first to do sing the duet from USA and the UK, but the sattelite connection gives 1 or 2 seconds delay, so that was not possible, so instead they made the video!

i really want to see it! im getting it (when i can be bothered to get my arse to the shops and buy it!) and Bowie and Jaggers 'dancing in the streets'? 'Radio Ga Ga' has nothing to do with starving children in Africa, yet they still played it! two of the biggest names at the time performed a song at a charity concert... that must of raised quite a bit of cash for the children. its not about song choice, its about the children (as cliched as that sounds) and how much money Bob Geldof could help raise for them! besides, i think its a pretty good song!

Ahh! i was deep and meaningful, well as close as I'll ever get to it!!!

Proton, thanks for clarifying the "Dancing in the streets" video for me coz I had no idea about it. And when I saw the video, I just didn't know why it was included in Live Aid set.

By the way, if it's a contest between Brits and Yanks, Brits totally dominated. IMO.

I have to agree - the UK show was much better than the American one.....Queen's performance certainly outdid them all! Their sound was brilliant and when Freddie was messing around with the cameraman, well, that was funny as hell! The audience loved it also! :-)

i can't believ this thread....
why would anyone need to justify being a queen fan by saying they are "proud"?

you are a fan of a band because you like their music...it's not some cause of the age people, we're not tlaking about standing up for improtant beliefs - freedom of speech, incarceration, religion, racism, or political freedom here....it's fucking music...enjoy...don't make it into a cause, because it's meant to be fun

Great Queen moment for me. . .

I went to the Virgin megastore in NY last week, which usually isn't a special moment, but as I walk in I hear the opening notes of Bohemian Rhapsody. . . they are playing the Queen Live Aid performance not only on the big screen, but on every TV on the floor at full volume (the floor was skaking it was so loud!). People were literally stopped in their tracks watching it. Some were singing along.

I have to say I got a little teary eyed.

Queens Queenie. . . the sequel
