Just heard the new version for the first time and really liked it except for the short rap-part.
Listen to the end..it reminds me of Queen II in some kind of way.

Sounds nothing like early Queen to me - infact, they sound less like The Darkness than they could possibly have tired to.

The new Band-Aid single is a nice idea but to be honest, it's the worst sounding piece of shit ever commited to tape.

Yeah, the single is really badly neglected. Fasted rushed out single for crying out loud! One bloody day it took to record and then have ready the following day. THAT is bad. And it shows.

I was really disappointed with the Darkness' parts. They could've done better and the idea couldn't have sounded worse. But maybe that's because of my first point.

Whose idea was it to record, mix and have it ready the following day?? The first time (1984), they HAD TO do that because the studio was only free for a day. Please tell me that was not the case again...

Peace,
Adam.

I like the original one. The new one is SOOOOO bad!! It'll probably still sell, in the UK of course but not in many other countries because a lot of the artists on the new version aren't well-known.
Why a remake? Money of course!!

I haven't heard this single yet, but it must be even more horrid than I thought if people like Dizzee Rascal are singing in it.

The new one is one god awful mess. It is completely shit. Bono sounds like a seal all that fuss over one line and its awful anyway in the end. Band Aid 2 with Kylie, Jason and Big Fun was more listenable that that shower of shite. The only two good things is of course it will raise millions and laughing at Chris Martin's hair.

Guess who's back?
