Queen2 is probably my favorite album ever, but if it takes a hit, it's because it has in my opinion the worst Queen song ever (loser in the end). i feel 'see what a fool i'v been" is light years ahead of the loser and should have closed out the first side of Queen2, it would have made the orginal album stronger. it wouldn't have been the best on the album but it would have fit in with the excellence of a great album, and besides i wouldn't have to skip the "loser" song everytime i put on Queen2.

See what a fool i've been is an amazing song. It's like blues on steroids. Loser in the end has a good beat, but I agree with you. The only hit this album could take would be from that, or Funny how love is. Just too repeitious.
Cheers

yea, the drums in "loser" are strong but the song itself doesn't work, and "funny how love is" i must admit i now like, but on first listen wasn't to crazy about it. Freds voice is the reason i like that one.

i woulda said loser is okay

and "funny" is a great song....it's larry lurex - i can hear music's bastard half brother, only self-penned....and a great "wall of sound" emulation

if there was a song on "II" that had to go - i'd choose some day, one day - (almost dirge-like in it's dowdiness)

"Loser in the End" is pretty good. I don't really like "See What A Fool I've Been."

worst song in my opinion on Queen II is The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke....best is either White Queen or The March Of The Black Queen.

it's not the greatest comparison, but i still think, "see what a fool i'v been" whould have been a better choice for such a great album, even though it sounds a bit to much like led zep.

Jeez, mike hunt, I really wonder if you are a "real Queen fan" - to criticise the band's choice - I don't know. All this bitching, not nice.

To be serious: SWAFIB was not chosen for the album because it was a cover . Brian did not remember which song he was actually covering and therefore the original was not credited when the song was released as a b- side. Only recently a fan found the original song and Brian credited it on his website.

I do not want any google ads here.

'The Loser In The End' fits the loose Queen II theme, in that it's similar, lyric-wise, to 'Father To Son', but instead of the relationship between a father and son, it's now between a mother and son.

'See What A Fool I've Been' is a standard blues song that has no business being on Queen II, as it doesn't fit the lyrical or musical themes presented on the album. It's merely a B-side and nothing more, though it would've fit in better on the first album.

Roger's song may not be his best, but it has a great rhythm and some awesome guitar work from Brian, and I can't imagine the album without it.

They're both are okay and I think if you're so a keen fan of SWAFIB - buy CD Hollywood's rerelease of QII - it contains SWAIFB on the album (as well as LITE)

SWAFIB seems to fit (in my opinion anyway) because of the rendition of the song itself. If you think about it, all the songs are quite different in one way or another.

I'm for Looser In The End. I like it more than WAFIB certainly.
