Sean Hayes.. and not by the looks of it due to there not even being an 'in pre-production' of it.

Well....
Lets hope it is actually going to happen. Then I can go and take my bucket of fried chicken to the movie theatre and munch while I watch this movie. Woo, heh.
Cheers

OMG

I hope it better not happen because we already have enought trouble with poeple who think Queen's Music is about homosexuallity already, now just imagine that a movie will be release about freddie's personal life and again we'll face something like whatr happened after release of IWBF in 1980's.

I don't think that's a very good idea, at least not US.

I can see what you mean....
But then again, I cannot.

Here in the US, we have (for a large portion) stupid white men (forgive that stereotype, but it fits so well) that are soooooo tied to the hetero movement that having this movie come out about Freddie's life would overshadow the great music they had.
But....

Having a movie about his life could be a good thing. Who are we to say what the movie will bring or even be? We make these assumptions (because most of the time, they are correct) but we make them not fully knowing if a movie is even going to come out. If it does, I won't have a problem with it, but it might create some anti-gay things to arise. If you live in the States, then you probably know what I mean. And yes MarchofthedirtQueen.....you can share with me. woo.
cheers

Not true. It's an old rumour, and it'd be Eric McCormack, not Sean Hayes in the title role.

I'm not gonna watch it. It will definitely focus (90%) on Freddie being gay and leave everything else out. It's like the bloody Untold Story that's only message seemed to be "Freddie was very gay, everything he did was gay. Freddie was gay".

so i see the musical has gotten in the way once again, it would have been a reality if it weren't for brian being so involved with the musical.

Okay! Where did you get your information from, and what is the name of the movie? And if this does actually happen I know I am going to Love it, but I do understand about the sterotype-ing about gays. Long Live Queen-ette!

they never got so far as to name the movie, they never got to that stage, it's just an idea, i believe if you look on the first page of this thread someone left a website where the actor who would play freddie is being interviewed and he mentions it.

I heard about this a little while ago and I think that if Eric McCormack could portray Freddie well enough, it might just work.
