I definitely think this is not the most important feature of Freddie, but I've found his name on websites listing gay celebrities and it makes me wonder. Do anybody particulalry admire him because of his sexual orientations?

QueenZone is not very good place to search someone who's admiring Freddie's orientation... We like him for another kind of things he did in his life, you know...

Maybe you'd better ask guys from site where Freddie was seen as gay idol?

thanks for finally answering
I agree with you and wanted to know if this zone was really about queen music (don't forget we discuss hair or handsomest...) and if the personal features of the members enter the debate (ok, this one may be a bit shocking for some purists).
don't understand I want to discuss about sex, because it is not the case. It is much more about what queen fans think of this reputation Freddie has in some places.
When I mention Queen to people not very aware of it, they often ask "oh, this is the band with the homosexual singer who died of aids?"
see, no need to be cold with me
and read and think before offending me...

no, not my gay idol at all!
just wanted to know if it was the case for some real queen fans (like me).
I believe gay idols means symbol of gay achievement or something like that, they represent a community, in a way. Hard to define, since I don't have any gay idol, and not in the gay "community" (not sure this word would be appreciated by some people) myself at all.

Do you think someone would like to offend you? Why? You asked the question, we answered. I don't like questions about handsomest and hairstyles as well, so what? Should I offend for your questions or what???

I'll follow your advice serry funster, true I'm quick to reply and then reread and then say oh no, I did not mean that (but I really meant the part before the cold/offense/me stuff and still interested by fans reactions)

WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS????
A GAY IDOL?????
Everybody in this planet should see Freddie as a God. But not for his sexual orientation, but for his outstanding voice, music and songs.
As for me, he IS God.

Viva Queen es la mejor banda del planeta. Nada se le compara, aguante Queen!!!

I don't think that Freddie should be considered a "gay idol." I guess if there are people who are gay and admire him for being gay and successful, that is fine. However, his sexual orientation was never his main focus or anything like that. I don't think he ever even officially came out of the closet to the public. I think to admire him simply for his sexual orientation is ridiculous. He didn't march in any gay parades or strive to create less discrimination. In short, he never publicly advocated homosexuality, so why admire him for it? He should be admired for the obvious reasons, such as, he was determined and gifted, and in my opinion the best singer to ever grace this earth.

I don't see him as a gay idol not as a God either. He truly was the greatest rock singer.

Well, not really. He was an idol who happened to be gay, but does that make him a gay idol? He'd be more of a gay idol if he'd done something specifically for the gay community.

People shouldn't look at Freddie because he is gay. We like him for other reasons.

Fuck them darling, if they just don't get.

If someone wants to see Freddie as a gay idol, then why not? Gay people need someone to look up to just as much as Zoroastian people, Parsi people, people with noticable overbites, smokers, people who like to wear PVC pants ... the list goes on and on.

I loved Freddie for his musical talent, voice, and sexy stage appeal.

Being gay doesn't make me think any less or more of him. It was just how he was, and I don't think it was something he deliberately chose either.
cheers

yes, He can be seen as a gay idol! Because I was so famous and a strong person, he is a good man to look up to by young and confussed gay peoples!

Everybody needs a idol sometimes in their lifes, most of young peoples I mean...

Some gays hear from others that they are stupid, sick and lower-range persons, but when they see a gay-bi artist like Mercury, who has make a lot of stardom, they begin to look at they self from another view I think!
