I have looked it up everywhere, but I can't find the real answer. Here is the question; What was Freddie Mercury's real name from that his was born? Was it Faroukh Bulsara OR Frederick Bulsara? Is it nowhere where it stands the same! I get nuts... :) Can somebody please tell me? What name was he born? Thanks!

Frederick/Freddie/Fred is just the "mainstreamization" of the above mentioned name.

A Google search under "Freddie Mercury Birth Certificate" would have helped to discover a copy of his birth certificate. You can click on the enlarge icon if the image is too small to read.

And before anyone asks:

Brian May's real name is Simon O'Shaugnessy. He is of gipsy decent, hence the hairstyle.
John Deacon was christened Pinkerton Brown. His nickname at school was 'Turds Are'.
Roger Taylor was born Trent Taylor. He was dropped on the head as a small child and decided Roger was more cool.

There's about 251 accepted spellings of Freddie's real first name. The one I see most often is Faroukh. His friends at his boarding school in India gave him the nickname "Freddie" and his parents adopted it from there. "Frederick" is the English equivalent of the Farsi "Faroukh."

Sorry if this has been posted already. I didn't read the thread.

The name on his birth certificate is Farrokh Bulsara, but his parents preferred to spell it Farookh.
