Watched greatest Flix 3 and then the tribute concert, I noticed that Brians solo is different on them. Do they go back and do this often to live stuff. Were queen really that good to those who havent seen them or did they often make mistakes?

Queen always changed a few things during concerts. As Freddie said (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'It's boring to go on stage and do it like the original. People can just go home and play it on the record.'

And as I always say: because they CAN :-)

I don't know whether there is a misunderstanding or not. As far as I know, Brian was not very happy about his solo at the Tribute concert and re-recorded it. However, there are official releases of both versions. I believe the Five Live CD has the original solo (i.e. as it happened) wheras the GHIII has the 'updated' solo.

I think is pretty boring to hear live stuff that sounds like the original, little changes make the difference when playing live.
