Man I am just listening to Queen In Nuce and it's just struck me how good Smile actually were. Step On Me and April Lady are really good songs. What did Tim Staffell do musically after Smile?

Does anyone if there any Smile CDs? I've never heard them, but I really want to listen to them. If anyone can find any mp3s of their songs (don't know if you can, but worth a try), then email it/them to me at danielhughes2003_1@hotmail.com

Smile was excellent, I'm almost sad it didn't go anywhere, but then we wouldn't have Queen would we? I love Tim Staffel's voice on step on me... I was impressed.

Smile was good. I'd have to say my favourite song is Earth. On that note, I seriously think we should be grateful for Tim leaving Smile because that gave Freddie the chance to form Queen. SO THANK YOU MR STAFFELL!

I never heard them...but if Brian and Roger were part of it, it had to be a good band!!!

I just ordered the Humpy Bong 45 -- the only thing they ever recorded -- and I'll post up the mp3s on the site for my Queen-dedicated books. There's some good links that I picked up in my research:

http://godsavemyqueen.com/2005/01/queenspotting-humpy-bong.html

I started a Humpy Bong thread that no one picked up on; perhaps that title is too obscure.

He did other recordings after Humpy Bong, which I did not know.

I love Smile!
Their sound reminds me of Queen's first two albums, which are (probably?) my favourite albums.

Reality check, folks. Few to none of us would even know about Smile if they didn't break up...kind of ironic, actually.

I like songs April lady, Step on me. I saw them in video Champions of the world. I have seen photo of Tim Staffel with Brian in FC magazine (Summer 2003) and he looks fine.
