for fucks sake. is this a wind up.. on the early albums it says who sings what... why you'd need it is beyond me (another clue freddie wrote it) i cant think of any freddie songs he wrote & didnt sing

It's called a fake accent.

Actually, it may be closer to his real voice than his regular singing voice. Which brings me to a question...

How come British singers usually sing with American accents, but speak with regular British accents...?

Its Freddie for god's sake! He did it in a "music hall" or vaudeville type voice because its that type of song similar to what was done in the 1920's. If he did it in his normal voice it wouldn't have sounded right.
