Why do you think he was jealous of Freddie? I've read the book too, and i don't know him, but he seems like a really nice guy whom really loved Freddie.I don't think he would be jealous of Freddie on such things! They were good friends!

He was more jealous about other Queen members, IMO.

when i read the book i thought peter was really pushing the gay thing with regards to freddie, staiting oh no freddie is gay not bi-sexual, i think he and many of freddie's gay friends couldnt bear to think freddie liked women when it was common knowledge, he had a bad crush on barbara valentine and he used to sleep with her and bought her a million pound flat, he used to go on shopping holidays with her and not even tell jim hutton so.... imo if he really loved jim he would of took him also or at least told him,
but yea its a great book to read he goes in great detail about freddie's home,
