Hey! It's me bassist and I'm proud to let you all know that I am a hard core band geek. Yup, I've been playing my clarinet in the Marion Center Marching Band (lovingly called the mean green marching machine) for two years.

Is anybody else here at QZ a band geek? Even if you're not as far gone as me. I even enjoy that stupid "brand" of humour us band geeks have. I'm such a total nurd about it too.

Yeah, me. I used to be in a brass band, a brass ensemble and finally I was let into the London Symphony Orchestra..then kicked out.

Everything up to the brass ensemble is true.

I play flute in a marching band. I love it :D

I'm also in a kind of wind instrument orchestra (don't know the word but it's not a marching band) for all kids in the country.

I'm totally a band geek.

I'm a choir geek if that counts for something. I WANTED to be a band geek and play clarinet but my mom wouldn't let me.

As far as choirs, I've been in them since the age of 12. Currently, I'm active in my school's

Honour's Madrigal
Chamber Choir
Concert Choir
Mixed Chorus

I would be in more, but I don't like any of the other choirs.

You are NOT a geek!! I think anyone that has the talent to play a musical instrument muchless, make awesome formations while playing a musical instrument is nothing BUT talented....to say the least. Wow that was a huge run on sentence. Oh well...it needed to be said without pause.

so kudos to you. I wish I had as much talent as you do. I can barely walk a straight line!!! Be proud!!!!!!

;)

My son is a senior in high school and he has proudly played the tenor sax in the marching band since 9th grade, and in woodwind ensemble in the winter months. Next month his band is marching at Disney in Florida.

:-)

Once upon a time I played the French horn. I still drag it out on occasion. Now I'm a chorus geek.

And at my school, the chorus geeks are the biggest geeks in the school. No one is in second place. We thik it's something in the water.

Choir and band geeks in my school get along quite well. It also helps that some band geeks are in choir. In fact, every year for my choir's spring concert, we join forces on the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's 'Messiah.' Good times!

I'm a loner band geek.

Cause I'm not actually in the school band. I take private piano lessons.

I'm hoping that when I get to high school, they need a pianist in the orchestra. I doubt it though.

Ooooh, we do the Hallelujah chorus every year for the winter concert! I should suggest that we join forces with the band...

OH believe me I AM!!! But I didn't mean "geek" in a bad, negative way. It just means that we are EXTREMELY proud to be in band and wouldn't have it any other way! :D
