You know, I'm not sure. I've found that Queen are one of those bands that take a bit of time to really appreciate, and a lot of people never listen past their greatest hits. Maybe The Show Must Go On? It's such an amazing song, especially knowing how much Freddie had to go through just to record it.

My friends already had a stereotype of Queen in their heads. They don't like BoRhap (almost blasphemy as far as I'm concerned) and they thought that's all Queen did, so I introduced them to Queen by letting them hear songs like "It's Late" and many songs on Queen Rocks and not telling them it was Queen. They liked it, and THEN I told them is was Queen. They were pleasantly surprised!

I would have to say ......... KillerQueen! That song is so cool. It lets people know that some girls are well slutish and sorta of respectable for it, well thats what its says to me so please don't bash me.

Possibly GOFLB? It's a great song. Once I was having a fight with my little brother and for reasons too complicated to explain we couldn't move from where we were sitting across from eachother (I sound really mature don't I) so I decided to annoy him by singing some Queen songs because he hates my singing and apparently he hates Queen. So after a full version of Bo Rhap including the operatic section, I started singing GOFLB. However I didn't know all the words so I stopped after a few lines and my brother actually said "Aww that was a good song!"

THat is such a hard question to answer, and maybe even impossible to do so. There is no such thing as a representative song for Queen.
Yes, I would also vote for GH I or II, but this would not be representative for March of the Black Queen or Flick of the Wrist...
Just imagine all those people who know the Best of Genesis and then hear "Lamb lies down on Broadway"... they will never know it is Genesis... Queen had too diverse a style to cram it into one song or even one album. (What else do you expect from a band with four songwriters?)

My favourite moments are when your friend listens to a song like 'another one bites the dust' and then goes 'wow, i didnt know queen did that.'
Then, i get to smack them!

I remember this one kid who used to live in my house HATED Queen just because I liked them (he's a shit, really). I'd play Dead On Time and Great King Rat and he'd say "wow, you're actually listening to GOOD music!" and then he'd find out it was Queen. Then he confessed to liking WATC and then I told him Freddie wrote it. He paused and said "well the song isn't THAT great!" Two words to describe him: little fucker.

Well if I could add a another Q to your Q. I would start by asking if your friend liked their music SOFT, FAST, or HARD. If they like it SOFT, I would go with: BO RHAP, and if they like it FAST, I would go with: Hammer to Fall and if they like it HARD, I would go with: Brighton Rock. Are those answers okay with you? Sincerely Q-ette

I wouldn't introduce anyone to Queen with "Hammer to Fall".

I have NEVER, EVER heard of anyone not liking these songs:
1) Fat Bottom Girls
2) Somebody to love
3) Bicycle Race
4) We are the Champions

While I love 80's and 90's Queen material just as much as 73-79......A new Queen fan should be introduced with one of the older tracks.

Rule of thumb: The introduction song you use sould have been recorded before Fred's moustache :>

Okay, GREAT QUESTION! First, it would all depend on what kind of music they're into. If they're into hard rock (NOT 80's), probably a live version of Now I'm Here or Sheer Heart Attack. If they enjoy dance/funk, probably Staying Power.

Hard question, but a good one.

well i agree with KenJ_1986 becuase they seem to have a trauma with queen, stating tha mr Mercury was gay and they stared playing 35 years ago; but when they listen to a heavy queen song, they become amazed without knowing its queen, that´s the way i got my friends into queen, or some of them at least they respect QUEEN now
