I always have been curious about who wrote sleeve notes for recent Queen releases?! This is the quote from the FM Tribute DVD back sleeve: "...A giant Phoenix - a symbol from Queen's crest designed by Freddie in 1969...". Hmm... Freddie designed Queen's crest in 1969? Well, even if he had an idea of the crest, of the band's name which wasn't exist in 1969 - well maybe, that's okay, I don't know - but how could he designed it then if Queen's crest features animals from the band members' Zodiacs?! What was instead of John's lion then?! Or Freddie knew for sure that a fourth member would be 'lion'?! Jim Jenkins, Greg Brooks, Jack Smith, Roxy Meade - who wrote it? Why 'I Want It All' credited to Brian on GVHII? Yes, it's his song, but Brian doesn't deny that Fred wrote 'The Miracle', but it's still 'Queen' track there... Wrong chart positions, dates etc. - is it too hard to check them more carefully before release?...

Sorry if this topis was posted before and for my bad English and for mistypes/mistakes I'm just back from my Birthday party, so... :-)

Not actually a sleeve not mistake but i was reading this book i think it was called "They Died Too Young" and there was only a measly little paragraph about Freddie. It said something about how he wrote most of the bands hits including Bo Rhap, WATC and AOBTD... not researched very well.

Hmm I think I have a habit of posting things in topics that are only vaguely related to the topic at hand. Sorry about that.

As for the Phoenix in the Queen crest:

Freddie once won a medal in some sporting event at school and this medal had some sort of Phoenix on it. He used this as a design for the crest. The addition of the band member's Zodiac signs came in 1973 if I'm not mistaken. Of course the complete Queen crest wasn't designed in 1969 as Queen didn't exsist at that time.

You've never seen nothing like it, no never in your life. Like going up to heaven and then coming back alive.

Since they were talking about Queen's crest - it's a mistake.

It sounds to me as though they were saying the crest was designed in 1969 :S

Yes the booklet for Greatest Video Hits 2 contains some errors (why not a lavish booklet like for Greatest Video Hits 1 anyway???)

For example, it says Who Wants To Live Forever was directed by the Torpedo Twins (in fact it was directed by David Mallett)
