While at work I returned a call to a materials testing supplier - when I was put on hold.

I was absolutely floored, as Headlong (from 1991!!) was being played while I was on hold.

Unfortunately it was interrupted by voicemail and I had to leave a message.

That is a surprise! A very pleasant one indeed! Headlong (or Queen, for that matter) was never hugely popular here in the USA, so when I hear any Queen song, I get excited.

Great to hear.

I always seem to get a much better workout
when Queen pops on the radio at the gym.

It's rare.

I stop everything I'm doing if Queen is on the radio (non-WWRY,WATC,AOBTD).

surely better queen songs for "on hold" systems are

some, day one day (you'll get answered)
39 (minutes waiting)
in only seven days (you may speak to a real person)
the night comes down (and we turn the recorded message on)
coming soon (you are now only 7th in the queue)
machines
i'm going slightly mad (from waiting)

in a somewhat related topic, my local (as in Detroit) sports talk radio station will play Queen songs as their 'bumper' music (i.e. songs coming back from commercials)........and even off beat stuff like Sleeping On The Sidewalk!

I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye
