What do you really think about this album? Was it all worth it after nearly three years of waiting for a queen release i'm talking about back in the late 80's when i was around anxiously waiting for news and sounds.

Well they didn't disappoint me with a great album a new sounding album from previous albums and with a great first single"i want it all" blasting the airwaves showing queen back at the top.

Highlights of the album for me are I want it all
breakthru scandal was it all worth it(should have been a single better than invisible man imo) also good work on the videos never have i seen a album with 5 good videos for it OH well 4 then scandal is a bit duff.

Lowlights are the terrible invisible man 12" version why oh why did they bother breakthru12" would have been better and my baby does me does nothing for me and would have been better with any of the following " i guess we're falling out" hijack my heart or my life has been saved.

A miracle it was released as freddie was slowly fading towards that place in the sky but well placed in my top ten albums of fave queen albums.

Yes we'll keep on tryin
we'll tread that fine line
oh oh we'll keep on tryin
till the end of time
till the end of time.

The Miracle was a great source of excitement at the time I remember (after the shocking Live Magic album and then the continual error-ridden releases like The Magic Years etc). ANY new studio material was welcome.

I Want It All was soemthing of a warm-up for the album, being released as a single before the album and I was absolutely STUNNED at how VIBRANT Queen looked and, above all, SOUNDED. It was loud and in-yer face and over the top as a great Queen rocker should be.

however, when the album came out, we were treated to the same stuff that marred The Works - an over-reliance on chart-friendly singles as opposed to the development of a direction for the band.

MY highlighs were:

Was It All Worth It - still blows me away.
Rain Must Fall - wonderful bass line
I Want It All - ABSOLUTE ROCK!!!!
My Baby Does Me - stunning vocal

EVERYTHING else was just pretty damn terrible - the videos, especially the one for The Miracle just smacked of commercialism and a COMPLETE departure from the band that had broken so many rules in Rock.

The album also confirmed to me that Queen were never going to tour again - rumor had it that they were going to appear at the Knebworth show for the Nordoff Robins charity that yuear which featured Page & Plant, Dire Stratits etc, but clearly, Freddie's appearance meant that something really was wrong - anyone who thought differently was either blind or stupid.

As for the 12" of Invisible Man, remember that this was ONLY a CD album bonus track and can't really be looked upon as anything else (they'd have been better off putting the Headbanger's mix of Hammer To Fall on there or, as you say, the 12" Breakthru' - I Go Crazy even).

Still, QPL needed to get the band going again at any cost and, sadly, it was the band's music that suffered.

The Miracle is my favorite album. I also like any other songs taken from The Miracle sessions such as I Guess Were Falling Out, Dog With A Bone and A New Life Is Born etc...

And the B sides such as Hijack My Heart, My Life Has Been Saved, Stealin' etc, were just excellent. The Miracle and Innuendo are both most probably my favorite albums.

As for the videos i think they're all absolutely great but in order of my favorites it would have to be...

1) Breakthru
2) I Want It All
3) Scandal
4) The Miracle
5) The Invisible Man

there's something of a generation gap thing here too!!!

generally speaking, many fans under the age of 20 cite it as their favourite - there's even the odd few who cite MIH as their fave -

whereas the older (sorry, those of us of greater years) tend to go down the Opera, II, Races NOTW Jazz route for faves

look at the profiles - it does add up

Don't get me wrong. My second favorite is probably Queen II then third ADATR, fourth The Game, Fifth MIH, etc...

I like absolutely every album but my favorites probably a cross between the Miracle & Innuendo more or less because of Freddies vocals and the amazing guitar.

I fell for The Miracle..I love it. I Want It All is a great song. Scandal I never heard for years because I simply had GH1/2/3, but I knew about it from looking in the UK hit singles book, so it was with excited anticipation when i downloaded it a few years back(sorry guys!!), and I really liked it. I bought the Miracle last summer on play.com. I'm sorry but I dont like paying £16 for an album...even if it is queen, £10 is reasonable enough..i think £16 is too steep. Trying to hear the B-sides from that album brought me here, desperate to hear new (to me) material. it also reignited my love of Queen, as I was just a casual listener if I picked one queen CD in my CD collection. But in the summer I had alot of money cos I had a cushy job at the local library with great pay, so i went out broadening my musical horizons, and getting The Miracle helped begin Queen on its ascent to my favourite band once more.

a summary:

1:Party. alright...but, I wouldnt have missed it.lol
2.Khashoggis Ship. Prefer it to Party, the power of the opening line always wins me over
3.The Miracle-Has its critics, and formely me, but its grown on me, especially the closing minute
4.I Want It All-a true classic.I love it loud, as KISS would say!
5.Invisible Man-fun song, I like the video.
6.Breakthru-upbeat and happy. sounds like the song is trying to charm a girl!
7.Rain Must Fall-makes me think of palm trees
8.Scandal.the song that made me buy the album. Its a great song. I feel its an injustice many casual queenies dont know of it due to it being omitted from GH's
9.My Baby Does Me. slow but still good.
10.Was It All Worth It? great! should have been a single

B-sides:

hang on in there-its pleasant, nothing special
chinese torture:not bad, its no eruption though Brian!
stealin':i like it, the demo is better though!!
hijack my heart:great song, should have been on the album
my life has been saved: ignore the pseudo-religious lyrics, its a good song,

extended mixes:

invisible man:oops! not good. why did it get on the CD???
Breakthru: its quite good, the intro is a lil annoying in my opinion
Scandal: Great! I loved the original, and I love this. I marginally prefer it to the album version

they should put out a Miracle "special edition" with all the tracks/B-sides/demos. a 2CD.

well maybe not, I'd buy it but that retail plan probably wouldnt be best for QPL

It was one of the most disappointing albums I've ever bought. Way over-produced. It's obvious Brian wasn't much of an influence on this project. Thank God for Innuendo.

I like it but to me it doesn't feel as solid as other albums. I love I Want It All and Scandal, and The Invisible Man, Breakthru and The Miracle are good, too, but there are too many tracks that are less than amazing.

The Miricle is my favorite Queen album of the 80's and 90's ... and I am 42 ...

The invisible Man, Breakthru, and Rain Must Fall are my favorites, while Scandal is my least favorite.

I used to hate this album, but I've come around to it. I think it was because the first two tracks on it suck. The rest are pretty good, except for "My Baby Does Me" which is not so good.

The Miracle
I Want It All
Breakthru
The Invisible Man
Scandal
Rain Must Fall

There are all great songs.

I think its OK.

I remember getting a demo tape version and listening to it. It took a bit of getting used to as it was different from their other albums, but The Game was soooo different when I first heard that.

I've tried, honest I have, but I just can't get into it. Sure there are a couple of stand out tracks, but there's also a helluva lot of filler and not a lot in between.

As I've said before, The Works and The Miracle both smack of albums made by a band treading water. Take the best tracks from both and you'll just about make a passable album.

I totally agree with you.
The Miracle is a breath of fresh air compared to AKOM and The Works, and I've always favored Miracle over Innuendo as well.

I do also like The ZMiracle album, but it comes long down on my "Queen album list". I did like the 70's album better, but of course, they were the greatest after that also! The Miracle has some strong tracks, like The Miracle, Scandal, Breakthru...

Quite superb album i think, but not the best. Does have some favourites songs of mine. I adore Scandal, such strong and powerful voice. I Want It All is ofcourse an all time high. Invisible man is quite good. Love the sequence when they play just their instruments.
Rain must fall must be the only song i really don`t fancy alot on that album.
