Do you think they (Paul) will get support from some backgroundsingers ?

Freddie never has been in need of them and I hope they wont need it, make use of it, too.

I think backgroundsingers destroy the Queen Rock`n Roll image. And Paul is a rock singer, isn`t he ? (I don`t know very much of his career or lots of his songs. Too many people on stage is not good at all imo.

What do you think ?

what a silly statement.
Spike Edney didn't destroy it, by playing keyboards during tours, and also that whole group of gospel singers during Somebody To Love at the Freddie Mercury Tribute did not destroy it.

N O T H I N G can destroy it!

Spike Edney was NOT a background singer. He is a damn good musician and the band needed an additional musician. The FM tribute was a special event you cannot compare with regular Queen concerts. I have not seen any backgroundsingers during Magic Tour, The Works Tour and all Queen tours... and it`s my opinion that they do not need singers in the background. What`s silly about it ? Always the same here, people cannot leave their own opinion without making silly annotations to others.. that`s weak. If you say you like background singers, gospel choirs e.g. it is okay and I won`t say anything against it. Was just a question and my point of view.

I never said Spike sang. I just made my point by saying that they had used the skills of others during tours earlier.
I think it's silly to say that just some background vocalist could destroy Queen's reputation. Bringing in another bass-player is allright then? And what else did they replace... let me think... Oh yeah, the lead vocalist.

C'mon, there's some magic happening here. Brian and Roger together on the road again - read Brian's soapbox about the rehearsals and the adding of Irish dates, Paul now cancelling his solotour, and more news next week.

THEY make the show. Surely not a backing vocalist.

Spike DID sing from time to time.
And no, I don't think background singers are a good idea. I hope you're happy now that someone answered your original question.
