Driven by you is not exactly an emotional ballad... it used to be an advertisement song anyway... But you are right about the other songs you mentioned... Brian's the softy of Queen ;).

Brian's great at emotional ballads. Another one's All Dead, All Dead.

Yeah, he wrote a few times in the "folk-rock" style... Some day one day, '39, Long away, Leaving home ain't easy, Sail away sweet sister... I love that style, it fits perfectly with his voice

Yeah, but let's not forget kick ass rock tunes like "Hammer To Fall". That too was Brian.

And what about Just one life?

I think Too much love will kill you is the most emotional song from Bri!

so am i right when i say "two thirds of Brians songs are emotional ballads"?

I'm not sure if it would be two thirds. He did write quite a lot of rockers (Keep Yourself Alive, Brighton Rock, Tie Your Mother Down, Hammer To Fall, etc), so I think it's pretty evenly balanced between those and his ballads.

Some of those "rockers" - her I am thinking of Hammer to Fall, White Man, and possibly Son and Daugter - are pretty emotionally charged too. I have occasional gripes with Brian, but he could write lyrics.

Too Much Love Will Kill You
Love of My Life - I know that this is Freddie's song, but Brian gets so emotional when he sings this song.....

I agree with you. As beautiful as Freddie's version is, I love Brian's version best, he brings so much emotion to it.
