Hi, not a remix I know, but I just wanted to see what anyone thought of my version of Fat Bottomed Girls. I recorded it a few weeks ago, and it was the first time I'd tried doing three part harmonies. I'd really appreciate some feedback on this, so let me know what you think.
Cheers

The opening lines are a bit out of sync with each other. But I really like the guitar and your voice. Overall, I give it an A- :-) It might do better on the Stage of Champions.

Now it's been quite a long time but could someone upload it on rapidshare so I could have a taste of it myself ?

May sound odd...but I'm interested in almost everything. :P

Of course, an e-mail with it would do...

Thank you. Dan.

As Promised, here it is re-uploaded. I've also included, purely for your listening pleasure (!?) my version of Someday One Day. A bit more chilled than the original, but fun nonetheless.
Enjoy!

Well, at first, I'll begin by saying that I liked your version and that I'm not someone who will spit at you.

From the beginning to the 2nd verse, I think that my version on stage when I play with my band "Krown" is a little bit better because I think that although my singin' is not that great, I can sing higher than that. Also, our version has a lot more guitar than that (though it has only one), it's more rock and roll. Still, I can't get the feel I'd like, like when Brian played it on the "On Fire Live At The Bowl" DVD and in 2005, you know, the guitar part just before it all starts for real ? It's always less rock than what I'd like.

But your version begins to be really really good after the 2nd verse.

On the other hand, we've never done "Someday One Day" at all, so you win hands down. I've done it just at home for fun, all by myself. It's poor compared to yours. I try to have Brian's voice because I like it because I think that he has more feelings in his than Freddie (Ex : Too Much Love Will Kill You).

All in all, you have talent. Wanna be our Spike Edney in the future shows ? :P Just kidding.

Could you do a version of, let's say, "No One But You" so I could really compare my lead singin' to yours ? Have you recorded other versions ? On my side, I've never done so or at least, none that I'm proud of. I'm more of a "stage-man" than a "record-at-home" man.

Keep rockin' man.

Dan.

Hey Dany,

First of all, thanks for that, it's good to get a bit of perspective from other musicians.

If you're a stage man, I'm much more of a recording man these days, as I'm not currently in a band, and just like to fiddle with every thing that clutters up our spare room (not my wife's favourite room!)

You mention the first verse of FBG being a bit quiet. The main reason for that was that I'd just bought a new yamaha 12 string and wanted to hear how it sounded on record. I can't help it - I'm a sucker for a twelve.

Now, as far as other covers go, I haven't done any other queen songs, and the only other cover I've got is of New Dawn Fades by Joy Division. All the other stuff I've recorded over the past couple of years is original material, most of which I'm trying to clean up at the moment because I've got better equipment now.

You shouldn't have mentioned No-One But You, I love that song, and I get the feeling that my wife will be spending another Sunday alone soon!

Thanks for the info Dan, and keep on rocking!
Pete
