Besides the video made for "Too much love will kill you" which looked similar to "The show must go on", do you think that there choices of music videos to compliment the Made In Heaven songs was pretty bad, couldn't they have been more creative with there choices???

They could have had a 3D sketch of Freddie singing along with the band for example. And they could have thought of other soultions to attract attention to their videos...

They were more creative and made something like MIH films, but who liked it?!

well i think the innuendo promo - started the whole thing off (which for me is one of best vids they made) show must go on was very similar (for obvious reasons) the pattern followed on & you've got the film concept video as well - which i havent watched for bloody ages

I believe KoQ was talking about the "Rocks" version of TMLWKY as, that's the one that's a compilation vid like TSMGO.

The MIH version has an old couple reminiscing about their love. Haven't seen it since 96', but from what I remember it was alright.

Peace,
Adam.

Having never seen any of the MIH videos (snd NEVER will), I can listen to the MIH CD without any outside 'visual corruption'... GREAT

I felt jipped when I bought GH3 and it was filled with these stupid boring shorts from halfpint shithouse amateur filmmakers. BOOOORING. They should have at least done something interesting, or remotely humourous.

I mean, would it go too far astray to try something like that Under Pressure video they did, where they blended Freddie and Bowie on stage? I dunno, anything but seeing some stupid drug user with a hideous face freak out because his girlfriend is a leso. Stupid Ibiza crap.

Funny I was watching the Queen Rocks video last night and they do exactly the same thing for "It's Late."

There are only so many times you can time every drum beat with an image of Freddie punching the air before it starts to get a little un-original.

In fact, place that alongside The Show Must Go On, Too Much Love, In My Defence and you may as well be watching the same thing.

It comes down to a question of what do you revert to?

Made in Heaven - The Films is okay I guess but I'd still rather watch a compilation video than suffer watching I Was Born To Love You set against a background of joyriders raking a car.....

I didn't mind the MIH Films on the DVD. There are only so many times you can make compilation videos of the same footage be interesting. At least they tried to do something different. I quite like some of them.

If the videos we made using new footage of Brian/Roger/John and merging that with old clips of Freddie or some other method of representing Freddie (a bit like Innuendo) that would have been alright but again if they did that for all of them it wold start to get un-original.

In terms of adding humour, I guess the mood / overall tone of the album, and the way it was recorded did not really lend itself to that.

Overall I think they did an okay job. They have done a lot better in the past but I glad they did not re-edit the usual clips in different orders.

I definitely think it's high time they created new material for Queen videos. I think they have to technology to do something at least interesting and arty, if not totally realistic.

Of the 'compilation' videos, In My Defence is the best. The idea of putting in little bits of interviews and having the I still love you bit at the end was smart.

But yes, I think that Hitler documentary was a good example, I believe that with the technology they've got now, they could totally stick Fred's head on someone elses body for a Show Must Go On video or something.

The saving grace of the Innuendo video is that it's not just a compilation, they've actually done something with the material they've got, the animation really was very fun to watch. If they were making higher quality videos around the time of A Night at the Opera, I expect that they'd have been like Innuendo.

I reckon Brian May should fund a full-on video, I mean he's got all that money I think he should splurge a bit. Bring on the fake Freddie I say.

think of the time Made In Heaven came out (1995), now think of all the big-budget movies from that time (i cant think of any right now maybe waterworld?) and think of the special effects from those movies, all shitty, or not computer generated, and cgi in 1995 costs alot more than cgi in 2005 does. So for a cg Freddie to be singing along with the band, it'd be a lotta lotta money (like 250,000+) for a 4 minute music video.

Uh-huh, a lot of money. This is the band that had midgets with bowls of cocaine on their heads. I think they can afford it.

Sorry for resurrecting this old topic, but it was the closest thing to a question that's been bugging me for a while...

I know that many people dislike these videos, but they are still official promos for the album, right?

The DVD release has the official "C&P 2003 Queen Productions Ltd.", so surely it must be what the remains of the band wanted to release?

So where does a Queenonline moderator (who happens to personally dislike the videos...) get the idea that Queen Productions didn't have anything to do with the release?

I'd be grateful if somebody could shed some light on this.

They should have recreated the band's member as CGI characters, (just think of Gollum!) that would have been much better!or create slide shows with pix from 90-91 period.
