Anyone still use the old forum then?
I thought I'd check it out for some reason and all the great memories came flooding back. And its great to see the odd poster with 3000+ posts since about Sept 2004. IMO the old board is much better than the new fangled one. No post count? Good idea actually. Wouldn't have minded the "date registered" thingy staying tho. Just so we can sort out an upstairs downstairs thing that's an integral part of every forum/notice board posting experience. Well maybe not. Whatever happened to quality over quantity?
Anyhoo back to my essay about Holocaust denial and David Irving, the steaming great twat. The things you do to get out of essay writing. You'd think we'd try and get it over and done with, try not to prolong the pain and the misery. Who remembers the classic ted_is_gay@hotmail.com gag? Wow, the vintage Steven Segal flick Under Siege 2 is on right now on C5 (thats Channel 5 for all you non-Brits incase someone tries to relate it to Freddie contracting aids and subsequently composing Bohemian Rhapsody telling us all about his impending demise, y'know "I don't want to die" and all that cobblers). Think I'll watch Stevie then instead of finish this bastard cunt of an essay and wasting bandwidth at the not so good old but better than nothing Queenzone.com

The following contains more canned luncheon meat:

"Just one year ago..." well one year and about 3 weeks. and now I'm currently writing a dissertation on David Irving and Holocaust denial. 12,000 words the fucker, done approx 10,870 so not too bad on the word count front but fuck knows about the actual content. Just watched that Peter Kay night on C4, a better alternative to any Steven Segal flick. But it was nice to hear the mention of the great man's name during the biscuit dipping gag.

As for the 'Zone, well one year on and its reached a depth I'd have never imagined. Shame. Well not really.

Looks like I'll be going to see the WWRY musical sometime during the summer, thought I might aswell go and see it before it shuts down its London HQ so at least I can tick off that box on the "I'm a more hardcore Queen-fan than you" questionnaire if it exists. But I'd still be considered a minor as I'm sure there's plenty of characters around this gaff who have seen the musical about 20 times. In each country.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour. The only worthwhile thing the Queen people have done in years. I saw half of Queen perform live FFS! That'll do me under the circumstances. Never bought the official CD, DVD or any of the official downloads. Bollocks to that, I settled for the bootleg of the concert I went to. Whoever recorded it I rejoice to the Lord that your mother and father decided to get the grind on during that wonderful moment of passion many moons ago. Anyway, everything else to do with the tour, official or otherwise was simply inferior in capturing the joy and immense happiness of that great night in Manchester. I have seen the DVD, a few of them shots of the crowd, oh dear me. That woman during '39? Shitting hell, she looked a bit too aggressive and hardcore for my liking. I think I've seen her on the QOL forum and I think I've visited her website which has some great photo's and stuff from the tour.

Wonder what's next on the cards for the Queen+ "I know lets be the most commercial band in the world ever to try and rake more money in from those muppets who will buy anything and everything that has the Queen name printed on it" bandwagon. I'm betting on another remake of WWRY. Maybe it'll be the Queen of Ethiopia's birthday soon. I hear they've got a cracking children's choir. Fuckin hell, with the exception of the Paul Rodgers thing and maybe the 46664 concerts, Queen+ is a pile of shit on toast. God bless John Deacon. In a perfect world the great man would forge out a successful solo career in the coming years, his retirement during the past decade being a mere cover for his years of vocal training and superior song writing. The Deacon would be the true phoenix rising from the flames, denouncing most of the Queen+ tripe and forging out his own legacy as the greatest (living) member of the rock band Queen. Or alternatively he can do the next best thing and enjoy his retirement for many more years to come. God bless The Deacon.

Anyway back to Irving. Hopefully I'll be back next year commenting on how great working life is. Until then adieu and take care...

I finished that dissertation about Irving btw. Fat lot of good it did me.

Anyway, lets talk about furniture. Who likes furniture? Furniture is good. It's useful. If someone hadn't invented furniture I'd be sitting on the floor right now. God bless that man/woman (probably a man).

It would appear that the rock band Queen are also massive fans of furniture. "How do you know this, Sir q-_-p? Have you been to Brian May's house?" Well, no I haven't. You see, Queen have this unfortunate habit of allowing the rape and pillage of their catalogue of music in order to sell things, most recently, furniture. Imagine sitting on your furniture, in your house, when all of a sudden "I Want It All" is blasting out the telly. "My word, its classic Queen, what in the holy name of God is this amazing turn of events?" Don't get too excited..... https://youtu.be/JbAIh7p6isg Stupid set of bastards. Then there was "Somebody to Love" and now "It's A Kind of Magic". What is this shite? Is Brian skint? Does Roger have shares in various furniture companies? Is John laughing his head off at the charade that is QUEEN+?

When I thought The Cosmos Rocks would be Queen's bottom I was clearly mistaken. It's all very poor form from a band that once made great music. Today, the remnants of this once great band sell furniture and perform a very good tribute act.

The Queen machine lives on, but rather than that phoenix rising from the flames its more like a one-legged, diseased, half dead pigeon, dragging itself to its watery demise in a gutter somewhere. Ah well, think I'll get Queen II out, relive some of the more pleasant memories.
