and what if you aren't going for quality but for the setlists with songs rarely performed live?

Well...

News of the World: Toronto '77 (They performed Sleeping On The Sidewalk) --> This recording is very rare
A Day At The Races: Rotterdam '77 (They performed I'm A Man)
The Game: Frankfurt '80 (They performed Imagine as a tribute to John Lennon)
The Works: One of the London '84 concerts (They performed a bit of Not Fade Away)
A Kind Of Magic: Berlin '86 (They performed a bit of The Immigrant Song)

There are probably more with rare songs, oh yeah, Tokyo 01.05.1975 is a nice bootleg. They performed Great King Rat (in its entirely), Hangman and as encore See What A Fool I've Been.

Don't forget:

Crazy Tour: Danny Boy - played Dublin 22-November

A bootleg exists *somewhere*. (Part of the show was played on Radio Dublin - a Dublin pirate radio station - the following night). Has anyone ever heard this bootleg???

Thanks Rick!

I'll definitely try to get hold of Toronto 77 & Tokyo 75. Not to keen on coversongs (except for "imagine" that is.) I always skip those on the cds....I'd rather hear their own songs. Any more other concert with seldom performed Queen songs anyone?

Forget about Toronto 77. The only reason that show is a thought is because I know someone who once recorded it and they were looking for a tape. But he is a recording artist with a million tapes in his basement, and chances are it was taped over.

Any more other concert with seldom performed Queen songs anyone?

Chicago 82, they played Life Is Real. There are some songs that were only played on one tour and don't have too many good recordings of, like Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, You Take My Breath Away, and Battle Theme.

Okay, here's my best of each tour:

Queen I: Liverpool, Birmingham
Queen II: Rainbow 3-31-74
SHA: Milwaukee, LA, Shizuoka
ANATO: Osaka, either show (I wouldn't count Hammersmith because it's not a full show)
ADATR: Copenhagen, Earls Court
NOTW: Houston, Copenhagen
Jazz: Montreal, Chicago
Live Killers: Frankfurt, Osaka 4-20-79
Crazy Tour: Hammersmith
Game: Chicago, Wembley 12-8-80
Flash Gordon: Buenos Aires 2-28-81 (Maradona concert is an audience recording, and not as clear)
Hot Space tour: Vienna 5-12-82
The Works tour: Birmingham 9-2-84, Vienna 9-29-84, Tokyo 5-9-85
Magic: Mannheim, Berlin, Vienna 7-21-86

I don't think you should include official releases... it's a bootleg list.

Oh yes, Tokyo ('75 May,1) from SHA tour is pretty good in terms of both quality and performance including setlist. And I'd like to add Tokyo ('76 March 31) from ANATO tour, although sometimes screaming is noisy...
"Glasgow" '77 from ADATR UK tour is fantastic. Especially, I love to hear Freddie sing the famous blues number "Mannish Boy"! :-)
I also think Copenhagen from NOTW tour is pretty good, too.

Is News Of the World tour: Berlin '78 really that good? The reason I'm asking is a friend of mine gave me Back in New York and it's supposed to be of excellent sound quality, but IMO it sucks. I'm comparing to soundboard Black Crowes, Ben Harper, etc., but really is it a good example of the of recordings from this tour?

Yes, all except for Calling All Girls. Find any recording from USA/Japan 82, and you'll get that song. Boston and Chicago are both great recordings.

But again, you can find the song on the official Milton Keynes DVD. The Tokyo 11-3-82 version is the audio for the picture gallery on disc 2.

Glad to help.

Actually, the rumour is that Queen played Mull on 6-3-77 in Liverpool. No bootleg to prove it, though. The second half of the show seems to have been intentionally hoarded by someone, probably for this reason.
