Just came back from the Basel concert, was in the second row. It was my first Queen concert, was too young when they toured Switzerland the last time with Freddie. Will post more tomorrow. Amazing concert !

- just back from the front row!

First of all: Great Rock concert!

INTRO: same, but they played the techno/pop version of Beautiful Day (no track 13...)

SETLIST: no change...no Long Away, but Drum-Solo(!)

PAUL: seems to recover: RT/BM on vocals Hammer to Fall, but PR back for IWIA .

DETAILS: The Amps just cracked at the beginning of the I want it all solo/instrumental part! Nothing to hear exept voices and drums :(:(:( - so, they somehow arranged to finish the song from there directly.

Very amazing rocking performance of All Right Now.

now: time for some sleep

cheers

(will also go to Cologne in July!)

Boy, boy, boy - they were good. It's a real joy to watch them playing. For me it's not Queen. That I know for sure now. It's something different. With this approach it's absolutely enjoyable. Very nice suprises, like Eminem, These Are The Days Of Our Lives-video, Last Horizon on the top of Buckingham-Palace, Roger's and Brian's solo-performances, light show, marvellous back-group (Jamie, Danny, Spike). And Vienna-Basel-Vienna - 1700 km in one go. I highly recommend a Volkswagen. Good car ;)

Looking forward to Vienna. And Munich. And Budapest.

Cheers!

The Basel show was great. I couldn't believe how much better it was than Brixton.

I guess they're 'gelling' more, but it seems they also might be using the feedback from the websites.

Track 13 was gone and the Beautiful Day remix worked.

The show is more 'compartmentalised' - it flows better and doesn't feel like it's stopping and starting.

And there were a few changes to the set. Notably fewer Paul Rodgers songs.

I'm not saying it was perfect, but it was a great night out.

It puts Brixton in context as pretty sloppy. They should refund everyone for that one!

I've got both Brixton & Basel shows and have to agree that Basel is a more polished performance in terms of the actual feel and flow of the show!
Roger's influence and contribution has grown during the tour and is slowly becoming the star of this tour IMHO. His singing and drumming on IILWMC is top notch. Think he's surprised many people with his passion, dedication and professionalism which can only mean great things for the final shows of this tour. They're improving I think which is to be expected as they're becoming more familiar with the material. Download the Munich show if you can as the quality is excellent and the show is great!

There's a more "Queen" influence on the Basel and Munich shows particularly with the omission of certain Paul Rodgers shows. Some people think that Paul has voice problems hence the omission of Seagull etc but I'm really glad that I'm seeing them at Cardiff in May as it's towards the end of the tour and they can really relax and reflect on what is in their eyes was a successful tour.

Here's hoping for a similar or slighty different set when they come to the UK. Would like to see Can't Get Enough Of Your Love after Tie Your Mother Down with the inclusion of Seagull and Say It's Not True but Seagull has been dropped to include SINT, so that's probably unlikely. Who knows, Brian might play more of the White Man riff and include Long Away again. That would be brilliant!

We all of us deeply apologise for this god forsaken shit heap of a building...but we will make it rock.

I hope SEAGULL is gonna come back to the set. I love that song! Not that I don't want to hear SINT... They can play them both :)
