In the thread on "what is the saddest song" someone wrote that TATDOOL was sad but because of the video. To what extent are you guys influenced by the video of a song, in any way? Can the video change the way you feel about it, with regards to the message of a song, whether it's happy or sad, or even whether you like it or not?

That is interesting. I thought every Queen fan was crazy about their clips for which they are so famous. I'm blind, so I don't really know much about their videos...not that I miss them! Their music is much much much more than enough to love them. And Freddie's magic doesn't need any image.

i think its ironic that Queen tried not too focus on the visual side of things even though many say they initiated the whole video thing!I've only just got the DVDs after having the CDs so i dont let the visual side affect me. i tink sometimes it's best to close your eyes and let your ears and imagination do the work xxx

well, video footage of queen performing is incredible. as far as music videos though......queen video's are pretty lame in general. and i dont understand how they get any credit for starting the 'music video'. they made a promo video for bo-rap in 1975. whats the big deal? the beatles were making promo films of their songs after they stoped touring in the 60s, to send to television music shows like the Ed Sullivan show. those were the first music videos (as far as pop/rock)

Serious Question: How do you use the Forums, then?

No I've never seen Freddie yet. I don't feel I'm missing much at all, because his energy is more than enough to tell me what he is like on stage. Hey there's a good chance that I may be able to see in the near future. If it happens I'll take a giant picture of Freddie with me so that he'll be the first thing I see. I'll be the very first person in the world whose very first sight was Freddie's face! LOL. (speaking of looking at the positive side of things :-))).

I use the forums and the PC with a vocal synthesizer, a software which reads everything that's on the screen.

Yes, I love the message of Radio Ga Ga. I often wonder about the usefulness of videos, not just by Queen but in general. Often they don't even seem related to the content of the lyrics. In cases like TATDOOL they obviously have a symbolic meaning, but I just don't get the point about clips in general.
I guess they're used to promote music. But in the case of Queen, their music is so powerful, so full of meaning and emotion, that I don't really think a video can add much to it. Maybe for non-Queen fans who just listen to them now and then, the video can be an incentive to watch and hear them on MTV etc.

Ps. Speaking of vocal synthesizer, I'd like to congratulate QZ web masters because QZ is totally accessible. Queenonline, for example, is totally unaccessible...Not that I care, since I have you guys!
