Tricky question .... :-) Things have changed a lot in this country since Slane '86, so who knows? Personally, I would like to listen to it as in any other country. It will mean that thinks are back to normal here as well ..

I was actually going to post this thread in anticipation of the gig and I was also going to email Brian on the subject.
I would be an extremely bad move from the band if they decided to play this closer as I know for a fact it would not go down well at all.
I thought Brian might be caught up in all the hectic touring stuff that he would forget where he is playing that night.
Can't wait to see him and the old lady though, i think I'm getting backstage aswell!!!!

Interesting i had totally forgotten about this i personally wouldn't mind, but maybe it shouldn't be played we dont want a riot!!!! although.... 90% of the audience will be major Queen fans and will know that it's actually a part of the whole Queen Gig and not to rub salt in old wounds etc...Oh i'm torn.. i dont mind but it wont be the same without Freddie coming out in his cape and crown...it was always for a bit of a laugh anyway so people shouldn't take it seriously...xx

Yep, I ask an Irish friend this question and she said that it will be offensive to many (including herself) even today, so they should not play it, at least in Dublin.

It is highly unlikely that God Save the Queen will be played at the end of the Dublin show. This was not played in '79, at either of the two shows in '84 or at the end of the Slane gig in '86. While things have changed for the better it is doubtful that it will be played now.

Belfast will be even trickier to decide. My guess is that it won't be played either.
