It's one more book written by someone who claims she had messages from Freddie's spirit. From the introduction it sounds very odd to me, but here are the comments from some people close to Freddie:
"I know it's true"
Jim Jenkins, Queen Official Biographer

"There is no doubt it is Freddie"
Peter Straker, close friend of Freddie's

"It's definitely Freddie"
Lee Everett, Kenny Everett's widow

"You can tell him he's a bastard"
Mary Austin

You can find it at
http://www.queensecret.com/about.htm

What do you all think?

Thanks to the cool Queenzoner who emailed me the link!

LOL You just revealed your secret!!

Have you read the book or you just assume this? I feel the way you do from the way she presents her book (the secret revealed...!). But reading all these positive comments from Freddie's friends makes me wonder.

Thanks

Now we have two books about Freddie. Is it possible that the two are true? Let´s find out.

I really don´t have time to be involved in this but i think we should write for Mary Howis and Melina Richmond and tell them about each other.

Then we should wait for an answer. They never claimed for exclusivity so...

But imagine that they both say it´s true! That freddie speaks for both of them, and they start suporting each other. Man, If this happens i think we all should contribute for their books.

How? you might ask.

If you imagine that there is a chance that this can be possible, and if his mission now his to bring more people to share the truth about live after death (like Mary Howis claims), then we should write questions for Freddie to answer.

So, the idea is

Let´s hear what they have to say about each other;

and,If everything fits toghether i would love to help Freddie in his new journey, and i would love to see a book with questions from fans around the world and answers by Freddie Mercury. It would be a blast!!

(By the way, has anyone read "Conversations with God" by Neale Donald Walsh?

Actually, if this is true, I find a bit disturbing, to know that Freddie ain't resting in peace :(

Bobby I know what you're saying! It could be done but I'd like to read the books first. I'm not sure the 2 gals would like each other though...

I partly agree with Vad: I mean, I hope Freddie is really living on as a spirit and sending us his positive energy, and even messages, but this book sounds disturbing to me too. The writer claims she's revealing his big secret. This sounds more like gossip to me than anything else, and here I agree with Vad...He should be left in peace. But I have no idea what this book is really about until I read it. I'd like to hear from other fans who have read it before purchasing it, because I don't want to give money to someone who's just trying to make money out of Freddie's death. The only thing that intrigues me is that some of Freddie's friends think she's telling the truth.

I've read the book. It was quite a fascinating, entertaining story--she has a vivid imagination. It was interesting that some "friends" that knew Freddie thought that she was the real thing (so she says), but she make a few mistakes, i.e. she said that Freddie told her he wrote She Makes Me (Stormtrooper with Stilettos), which is Brian's song. What other mistakes did she make? I can't say I believe her story, but just because I've never heard from anyone from the other side, I wouldn't say it could never happen. It's easier to prove something DOES exist than to prove it DOESN'T.

I've read it and it's rather dreadful. Embarrassing almost.

Just another crank cashing in, which ain't no bad thing as I've built a career on the same premise.

Flashman, would you mind telling me more about this? Why is it dreadful? What kind of "secret" does she reveal? To me it all sounds so disrespectful toward Freddie. Why do you think his true friend would not be mad? I haven't read the book but the introduction alone bothers me. Sounds like a gossip magazine!

Yeah I've also read elsewhere that she made mistakes. For example, she presented a Freddie's interview as if it was the last, whereas it was done in the mid 80s. So I wonder why Peter Straker etc. were so enthusiastic about this book. I find it almost ofensive to say that now SHE is revealing his real story.
I do believe in life after death and in contacts with spirit. Actually I'm so interested in this type of books because I'm looking for someone to prove to me that they had real contact to Freddie - because I think I've had such a thing myself and I need confirmation - but I think anyone who writes such stories should keep in mind that they're talking about a real person, who has real parents and dear ones who could be offended or hurt. I just wonder why Mary, or the rest of Queen, have not reacted badly to this gossip story. On the contrary, they seem to love it!
But I haven't read the book yet....Just deciding if I should.

Thanks for your feedback, guys...

Actually, in the book, she goes to see "Freddie's guitar friend" supposedly at Freddie's urging and "he (Brian)freaked out and his woman friend started yelling at her". I suppose the reason they haven't come out against the book is because they don't want to make a big deal about it and stir up an interest in the book. (?)

Hi Good_Company50! It's an interesting theory. You're probably right. However it's basically the fact that Freddie's friends said the book is truthful that makes me want to read it......
Do you remember if there was any striking evidence in the book that made you believe her?

Maybe now you're thinking: "Stop bugging us with your questions and just read the book!". I know but I'm very curious, and it will take weeks for the book to get to Italy if I order it with Amazon. And I'm still waiting for the Mary Howis book (always on this subject), which is taking ages to arrive!

Thanks

Fairy

Hi Fairy!

I can't remember anything specific that made me believe her story. All I can say is, it would be fascinating if it were true. If it is true that some of Freddie's friends believe her story, that could be somewhat convincing. It has been about a month since I read the book and I read it so fast, I don't remember many details. I guess I would recommend that you read the book if you are curious about what she had to say. BTW it took me over six weeks to get the book from the UK to me here in the USA! If you would like to discuss this more, could we e-mail each other?
