Apparently, according to a post by the forum administrator on the QOL notice board, one of the support acts was confirmed yesterday.

They can't say who it is as yet, but are sure it will be leaked soon.

Any idea's folks?

My guess would be Wire Daises and/or The Darkness.

I have no inside knowledge or anything just my stab in the dark.

I realise that the Darkness are pretty big but do you think they could fill Hyde Park themselves?

It might be a good opportunity for them to play to 85,000 people and introduce themselves to a wider audience / new fans.

I might well be wrong be I can see why they might be attracted to that.

I guess we won't know who the support acts are until they decide to annonce them officially.

I personally don't mind I will be there to see Queen+PR any other act is a bonus.

Ian Hunter.

The Darkness.

Def Leppard.

In that order.

I can't see the Darkness opening for them. I would lean more toward Wire Daisies...but really I don't care cause I won't be there..*sob* ;-(

God forbid its the Darkness I have never heard such a contrived god awful vocalist in my whole life. Lets hope its a decent band or bands Muse for example.

According a a announcement on Brian May's website a while ago there is going to be 2 support acts at Hyde Park. I agreed that the Wire Daises would be good for one spot. The question is who would be best for the other.

Bummer. Near Death Experience would have been a better choice.

While I'm not a big fan of Razorlight, they really will put Q&PR to shame. Their shows are very energetic and theyre a tight band.... exactly what Q&PR AREN'T.

I have Razorlight album and they are good, but I would never imagine seeing them as support act for this gig. Oh well, why not :)

Why the fuck would I have seen them in Rotterdam? Did they suddenly come alive that night?! I was at the Brixton show and have listened to a number of bootlegs from the shows after it. Theyre not tight by any stretch of the imagination.

A bunch of johnny-come-lately punks who claim they are better songwriters than John Lennon are going to blow Q+PR off the stage? In a stadium packed full of Queen fans?

BWAA HA HA HA HA!!

Thanks for the fucking laugh!

They'll be lucky to get thru their set without getting pelted by bottles and trash!

I saw razorlight a few months ago supporting the Manic Street Preachers. They were okay but I was not that impressed.

The Darkness have said that they will not perform again until work on their second album is complete. I the meantime, Justin will release a solo album of material that is vastly different from the ditrection the band is going - it's synth-heavy apparently.....

I noticed that someone wrote The Darkness are too big for a support slot. Don't bet on that one. James Brown supported The Chilis on their UK tour last year. Work that one out!! Shouldn't that have been the other way round?

... not that I'm trying to imply Queen + PR should support The Darkness of course.

The Darkness are bigger than Queen+PR right now. It would be more likely that Q+PR supported Darkness.

According to reviews I've read Razorlight are brilliant playing in places like The Apollo and The Odeon, but when it's a big place, all you hear is feedback and low pitched moaning.

Razorlight's frontman is an arrogant twat as well. He goes on about how good his songs are. They are o.k but nothing special in my book. I'm surprised he will humble himself supporting an old band.
