I had two tickets for the Manchester gig last night but instead of going, my wife an I spent almost 3 hours stuck in between junctions 25 and 24 on the M62 behind a 7 car and 1 Artic pile-up.

Sitting in taffic for that long was bad enough ... wasting £110 on tickets was not great news either ... but far worse was sitting there knowing that you’re missing what is possibly a once in a lifetime chance to catch a collaboration between two of your all-time favourites. The pain was great ... the pain is still great.

We got to Knebworth in ’86 and to the tribute gig in Wembley in ’92. managed to catch Paul Rodgers twice too. But Manchester 2005 was not to be.

I am gutted.

Well, there are three bodies lying here in my office. A couple more and the anger may begin to subside....

Yes, it was great. Slept at Stevenage station. So glad I did that.

I run the www.thin-lizzy.com website but never saw Lizzy ... and "hate" anyone who did! :-)

Whilst you're on to Mr May would you care to mention that you were supposed to meet a couple who had managed to miss the M62 mayhem and get to the concert - but their enjoyment was marred by the fact that their friends hadn't turned up? Just a thought Dan! Your progress - or lack of was being followed by the immediate crowd surrounding us. Over one hour after the second phone call and you were still in the same part of the motorway people started to give up hope.
No consolation but you missed a great gig.

I'm sorry, man! That really sucks. Maybe some of us zoners here can help the soarness by sending you some bootleg recordings of this and other shows of the tour or something?

Wot, just to rub it in eh! ;-)

Seriously though, thanks very much for the kind offer but honestly it's not necessary.

Rotten luck. Any chance of sparing a thought for the poor folk involved in the pile up?

Thought not.
