Rush kicks Aero Supply's ass. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson plus Neil Peart equals greatness. At least you didn't see Rush play a Super Bowl with N' Suck or B*tchney Sneers! Also, Rush didn't get into hard drugs and got better with each following album.

Rush got synthesiser happy in the 80's and beyond. Their 70's stuff is clearly the best compared to their 80's pop syntho stuff.

I've seen Rush live twice (94 and 97, or was it 98?), and they were just awesome both times.....the 2nd time was really cool though.....no opening band, they played 2 sets.....and the closing number for the first set was 2112! (the whole first side, in its entirety!)

Rush toured from June to July 1997 as Neil Peart was dealing with the deaths of his daughter and wife between August 1997 and July of 1998 respectively. I have seen Rush FOUR TIMES. Once in 1994 with Candlebox opening(Candlebox got booed by the Rush faithful). Then I was at the show where the live 2112(all 20 minutes of it) was recorded for Different Stages. Then I saw Rush again in July of 2002. Then saw Rush in August, 2004 where they resurrected Finding My Way/Anthem/Bastille Day/A Passage to Bangkok/Cygnus X-1(part one)/Cygnus X-1(part two prelude) as a 7 plus minute instrumental medley called the R30 Overture. Also they resurrected Xanadu, Between the Wheels(a lost gem from Grace Under Pressure), Red Barchetta, Mystic Rhythms and did some covers of The Who's The Seeker and Summertime Blues as Rush had released their covers album/EP Feedback in June, 2004.

At least Steven Tyler doesn't sound like a 60 year old woman.

My vote goes for Aerosmtih.

In my books, Rush wins...

Every single Rush song has some kind of redeeming quality... lyrics, melody, guitar work, drumming, or whatever.

Yes, both bands put on a great show, but Rush has nobody in the background. In Aerosmith, the audience is watching only two of the five members, but all three guys in Rush are equally important.

Geddy is a way better bassist than whoever it is in Aerosmith, and Neil Peart? No question there.
