After Sheffield I wish that I had taken the bull by the horns and bought myself a ticket for Wembley and/or Hyde park. Does anyone know what the current situation is with tix for hyde park? I am worried about being a woman alone at the gig and travelling down from yorkshire but I just so do wanna do it!!

Apparently only 40,000 of the 120,000 available tickets have been sold.

It won't be 120000 due to limitations (I believe they have limit of 80000 places apparently, but exact figures are unknown to the public yet). This limitation has been mentioned in one of the past interviews by Bri or Rog after gig has been announced. Still, you can get ticket for Hyde Park with no worries (at least for now).

If that's the case, then maybe Hyde Park is one gig too big for the boys. It would obviously sell out completely if Freddie was still with us!

Think more tickets will be sold as the gig comes closer.

We all of us deeply apologise for this god forsaken shit heap of a building...but we will make it rock.

I am pretty sure that capacity is 80,000 - read it in a few places. Also I am pretty damn sure that it will sell out or near as damn it - there will be plenty of johnny come lately fans who will pcik the tickets up.

Sheffield was such a wonderful gig that I am thinking about doing Hyde Park. I am female would be going on my own and am from Yorkshire. If you want to contact me we could see whether it may be possible to go together. I agree it is daunting prospect to go on your own especially to this type of gig.

They'll be a QZ meet for sure, and as I've got the day booked off work, I'll be there.

catsinrock:

Don't let the fact that you are going alone stop you from going to the Hyde Park gig. You want to hear about daunting? I flew over to the UK from the US, solo, to catch just the gig in Manchester and ended up going to Newcastle and Birmingham as well. Other Queen fans made it possible for me to do that, and these were people I had never met before. I can't tell you how many nice people that I met before, during, and after all three gigs, but there were a lot of them. They came from all over the UK and other countries. I don't know what it is about Queen, but the fans are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I sincerely hope that Freddie, Brian, Roger, and John knew/know about this part of Queen's legacy, because it's certainly noteworthy. THEY made all of this good stuff happen.

Recommend you get involved in a pre-gig meetup somewhere, as that's what we did in Manchester at the Hard Rock Cafe, and it was great fun. Had an opportunity to do so before the Newcastle gig, but was afraid I'd miss hooking up with Russell and his friends, who had an extra ticket to the show that I could buy. In hindsight, I should have taken them up on their offer to join them for dinner before the gig. Again, imagine being invited to join someone for dinner based on the fact that we had exchanged emails a few days earlier, and phone calls for the first time that same day, as we each made our way to the gig--me on the road from Manchester, and he from Scotland! Just nice people!

Had another great meetup in Birmingham, and only knew one person who was going to be there, as I had met Fenderek at the Manchester Hard Rock meetup. (Great guy, by the way--not so dangerous after all!) When I got there, Cathy and Lisa from Scotland, whom I had met at Newcastle, were also in the bar at the Crowne Plaza, and introduced me to more of their friends from Scotland. And so it goes.

Had an absolute blast. Even if I hadn't gone to the meetups, I met nice people sitting near me at all the gigs.

I'll be back for Hyde Park. Not so worried about seeing the band this time as long as I can hear them, but I will definitely want to meet up with as many of the people I met in Newcastle, Manchester, and Birmingham!

As Brian says in Let Your Heart Rule Your Head: "Do it!"

Cheers!

Cindy

Hi Cindy

I've been to a Who gig in Hyde Park and it is a such a lot of waiting round. Then there's the getting to and from. Sure everyone is great and if I decide to go will definitely go to the meet up before.
