Queen Productions should consider this for next dvds releases:
The premature death of Freddie Mercury has raised many questions regarding archive product. No-one wants to appear to be cashing in on his death, but the current state of video releases is far from satisfactory. Those now available create the false view that Queen's most successful period was the early Eighties and that they only played huge shows. This should be redressed with, at the very least, a good compilation of their seventies live performances. Concerts from the Rainbow, Hammersmith Odeon, Hyde Park, Earls Court, Houston and Paris deserve official dvd video release, as they show exactly why Queen became so successful.
The BBC's 1975 Hammersmith show could appear on DVD; and although the Earls Court and Hyde Park films suffer from technical faults, they could be made into exceptional videos with very little effort or expense.

There is a strong chance of Hammersmith 79 being released next I am reliably informed.

i want something wich is not available in the trading circuit.

Earls Court, Hyde Park, Houston.. offcourse it would be great if those will be released. But they are available already.

I want a real rare concert. I'm sure there are some gems in the archives.

I think the most likely 70's gig to be released would be Hammersmith 79 as I'm pretty sure multi track audio exists for that show(parts appeared on a compilation lp along with The Who and Wings among others)this would mean they would be able to create a great sounding 5.1 mix
I have a 70 minute or so version on dvd and would love to see the full show in perfect quality.
The band and Freddie were in stunning form that night!
Earls Court would be great of course but I dont think it will ever be a general retail release
Maybe at some point QOL will offer it and others(eg Hyde Park)in a similar fashion to the failed bootleg project. If you could obtain it in the same quality as seen on the Magic years for example from QOL then I think the demand would be there(lets face it most people on this forum would be up for that I should think)We'll just have to wait and see

Yes, agreed. Now and again there are brief clips in documentaries from unknown shows, and it would be nice to see some more of that.

Hammersmith'79 is a possibility. About the '75, Brian himself already said that it WILL NOT be released EVER.

When was this said ?. Both Bri and Rog said only this year that Hammersmith '75 WILL be released in the near future but they dont have the multi-track tapes for the audio so they cant do a 5.1 mix but it will still be released.

As for Hammy '79 the last I heard on that was Brian saying that he does'nt think they have the tapes anymore (at least not the whole show ).

Brian has NEVER said they won't release it.... in fact, it has been strongly suggested that it WILL be released. There won't be any multitrack tapes as it was recorded for BBC TV & Radio.... there are two different (stereo) sources for this gig - the tv mix and the radio mix... and the tv mix is horrendous, the radio mix however is great. If they can get away with releasing Milton Keynes, they can release any of the pro shot 70's gigs seeing as MK was far from perfect is both its sound & picture.
