I don't want to be a pain in the ass, but that wásn't his question.

Yeah, there's a studio version. Is it available for download? No

He meant a studio version. Not a version from a concert.

He means the studio version of the intro tape

nO, DOESN'T EXIST.
THE ONLY THING LIKE THE INTRO IS IN THE EXTENDED VERSION OF MACHINES, BUT IS A PART OF THE SONG.

Rick mate, your 18! how can you say the Works tour was crap when all you've got to go on are bootlegs and maybe Tokyo and Rio on dvd?

Believe me, if you had seen & heard the Works show up close and personal in '84 like I did I think you would feel a little differently.

Great gig, great set, great lights, awsome sound,
shite support act but one great night which I still remember nearly 21 years later.

Hehe, I do like the 1984 Works-tour. But I prefer the seventies Queen :-).

Oh, in THAT case let's all burn our Works tour bootlegs and albums!! Cos RICK doesn't like it...come on queenzoners...I've already deleted them from my computer, c'mon now, don't be shy....

:P

Easy on, Linda. It's not my favourite Queen era, the 1984 tour wasn't bad at all. It has some nice gigs, but overall the tour for ME was not good.

for me the works tour is good but not the best. the intro is espectacular, but "tear it up" sounds best in magic tour, and hate the version of AOBTD. It's a Hard Life is amazing and the medley of the first era too.

Sorry if I sounded patronising Rick, no offence intended. I had a smile on my face as I typed it!

I would think twice before you say that if I were you... although he's 18 he has one of the most impressive collections

I saw 3 shows on the Works tour and it was bloody awesome! Great set..very Metropolis, best lighting rig (Roger's favourite BTW) revolving giant gog wheels and thunderflashes. The Works tour seems to be "forgotten" by many fans. Also I have a review from Kerrang magazine of one of the Birmingham gigs where he says that it was one of the finest performances by a rock band he had ever seen!

I really like the early 70's stuff from Queen and there was a great medley of pre'76 stuff - Killer Queen, Liar & Keep Yourself Alive and they also played a snippet from Great King Rat and also Radio Ga Ga was performed live for the first time on this tour and it sounds much better live!

The Works tour was my first real experience of Queen live...I was only 21 at the time and will always remain a memorable set of gigs at the NEC...even though the support act General Public were total crap!

We all of us deeply apologise for this god forsaken shit heap of a building...but we will make it rock.

Yes it was indeed awesome, I was just coming up to my 14th birthday at the time and I had seen The Police before but in terms of production there was no comparison with Queen at the NEC.
It was the 1st of September show I was at by the way which funnily enough I've just downloaded here!(not that I've had time to listen to it or burn it yet...)
