Hi everybody ! I was in Rome a couple of days ago and I bought Queen in Nuce. I never saw this album before. I read the text on the cd but I don't understand all of it. Can somebody tell me more about this album. Are these only Smile songs, who is Larry Lurex and when did they record these songs ??

______
fun it

They are all pre-queen songs. Some are smile songs, and some are with freddie on vocals. The Larry laurex thing is just a name that Freddie used for fun, when he released that single on his own.

Larry Lurex + Smile + John Deacon - Tim Staffel = Queen

Try this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_%28band%29 There's history (incorrect in some places though) of the band.

And check this http://www.ultimatequeen.co.uk/homepage.htm from the first 'till the last page.

I can hear music, Goin' Back, Mad The Swine - by Freddie.

April Lady - by Brian.

The rest by Tim.

Roger provided some BVs on Blag and April Lady.

Eh.
The "Goin' Back" and "I Can Hear Music" are much better quality on the FM Solo Collection.
As for the Smile stuff...eh.

Get the Ghost Of A Smile CD (it was only pressed in Holland), that's much better quality. You could try to find it on Ebay.

My mom bought it for me when i was 11 or something. I went back to the record shop and swapped it for Sheer Heart Attack.

No, but the Smile tracks are. He said: "As for the Smile stuff...eh." So I point him to the Ghost Of A Smile CD.

The quality on Queen in Nuce is so bad as to be funny, but Ghost of a Smile is one of my favourite CDs of all time. Beats the crap out of The Works!
