Chicago 1978 is not soundboard, it's an audience recording, a very good one.

Actually THERE IS a soundboard version. Confirmed by QueenConcerts.com

Thats True, I´ve got it on CD (no MP3).
Actually it´s recorded via the microphones of the Stadium, so it´s not really an soundboard.

No, it's an audience recording, 100% sure.

Never... there are at least 10 Hot Space shows that sound better than this one.

That's true, Bob. Wasn't the bootlegger the owner of that venue where Queen played? He could place the mics everywhere he wanted to. So, you get a nice sound, coming from every angle. And I must admit: It sounds as an soundboard recording, but it's an audience recording!

I don't know how that myth started. The taper certainly did not have any association with Chicago Stadium. He was a regular fan who (apparently) managed to smuggle in a superb recording device.

I'd add Chicago '80. The sound is great (soundboard I think), and it's a really good show.
