I'm really tired of all these Spanish, Italian, Dutch posts which can't be read by other QZers... I respect all countries and languages, but don't we need to respect QZers who can't understand these native languages of some QZers?!

Damned, do you want Queen hot news or recent John Deacon's interview to be posted here on Russian?!

Guys, this is not chat room, we don't have 'personal messages' feature here. Use English otherwise post your topics on your home forums! If I want to post on Russian - I go to QueenRocksRu and write there.

Totally agree Serry! We all have to make an efford and use english. I'm Italian, and for me it would be easier to use my native language, but in that case just a few people could understand me so... better english, no?
Perhaps we could use our native languages to help other QZmembers reading and understanding articles from the local papers and so on: what do you think?
Cheers,
Linda.

Sergey, I agree. You tell em'!

By the way I still think you speak English perfectly and admire how well you mastered the language.

(especially when people in my own neighborhood can't speak, read, or write English..right here in Maryland USA!)

I was in McDonalds this morning for breakfast, and I heard all of the customers speaking, Hispanic, Oriental, Yiddish, no English though.

What kills me is all the people in there DO understand and speak English, but they sit at their tables speaking every language but.

Never used to be that way here. If a person emigrated to the USA, they obviously WANTED to be here, so they took the time to learn the language and..in public..SPOKE it.

I have no problem with people who move to the USA, learning English, but speaking their native language at home to keep their culture alive.

Hey..when I was a child my Grandmother and Father used to speak both Russian and Yiddish, as I am Jewish and my grandparents came here from both Russia and Germany. But, they spoke and wrote fluent English and spoke it in public.

I think people either who move to the USA who either don't learn the language, or who do but refuse to speak it in public anyhow... are excuse me, disrespectful.

If I were to move to another nation, I would learn the languaue, and speak it in public places.

Sorry for ranting!

BTW, when I was a little girl, my father (before he passed away), bought me a book of how to learn Russian. And I was blown wway and intimidated because it's not only a different language, but a different alphabet and way of writing the language...

...so I especially respect your learning not only how to speak English, but how to write it since we have an entire different alphabet and way of writing the language than people in Russia. :)

Yeah, we use cyrillic alphabet - it uses in some Slavic languages (more in East Slavic languages). It can be seen here:

And this is about how many people in USA speaks on Russian:
