watched shaun of the dead
and although the film was okay-ish

what got me was the surround sound on the music

You're My best friend was the closing credits tune...and it sounded bloody amazing on surround... it really leaps out of the speakers...and dances all over the place...may invest in ANATO dvd-a, but really waiting fot RACES and queen II

How ironic.."You're My Best Friend"...in a schlock horror/comedy flick about zombies! Freddie, would be PROUD as I am sure Roger & Brian are!

Hey maybe this will get John out of retirement (being the composer and all) to THANK the producers because...what was that..I heard a sound. John heard it too.

CA CHING! ROYALTY payments!!!! LOL!

What do you mean when you mention George Romero? Do you mean for inspiring the film's writers/directors?

Peace,
Adam.

MY Bad...thought you all meant the NEW movie coming out, "George Romero's Land Of The Dead". So many damn zombie schlock flicks out now.

But John still ought to thank the producers...Ca Ching!

They used the 5.1 remix of YMBF on the SOTD DVD??

Are they allowed to do that, even if they have the proper licence to use the song in the first place, to copy the 5.1 remix?

Would make sense to have a surround remix for a movie in 5.1, since most movies these days ARE being produced in Dolby Digital & DTS 5.1 surround sound (DVD and Movie Theatres), and SDDS 8-channel surround sound (Movie theatres only)

ED: And yes, it certainly DOES leap all around the place, that song's remix!

yeah, but DSMN didn't "leap" around - i think this is because YMBF was the closing tune - so no noises or dialogue mixed in
whereas DSMN was in amongst the general action sounds
