Hi this is my first time posting so be gentle with me...I was wondering why there are different versions of Freddie's death??What I can't understand is why the doctor told the people at the house that it would be a few days before Freddie passed when from what I have read is that they called the doctor to come over when freddie went into a coma and his breathing became shallow..that is a sign that the organs are shutting down and that death is near..Plus Mary said that she pretty much stayed by Freddie's bedside but in Jim's book he hardly talks about her..was there hard feelings between them..I'm not trying to get something started I just can't understand all the different stories..plus you must give Mary credit, she didn't write a book but maybe she has enough money thanks to freddie..

You just wait! LOL! ;)

I haven't read Jim's book, but maybe Mary didn't want to be included, or maybe he just wanted to concentrate on his own memories of events?

Don't know about the doctor - perhaps he was called twice? Whatever happened, sadly, the end result would have been the same.

You do get that feeling, but if he is sour because of that he would be an ungrateful little...ugh...but Freddie left him enough money to have it so he'd never have to work again in his life. But I've only read excerpts online (because I'm so very cheap ;).) and I have heard things like how Hutton thinks that his relationship with Freddie was a lot more deep that Freddie's relationship with Mary. That may be true. Hutton also talked about how he loved that house. It almost makes you think that Mary didn't want Jim Hutton around in the house as an influence to her kids...maybe?

I read that Freddie wet himself then Jim and Phoebe debated if they should change him. (This is from Jim's account) Jim Hutton claims he said he said something like "If we don't he'll probably go apeshit when he wakes up" then they changed him, Jim said he felt Freddie slightly try to lift his leg to help out, then he said he was gone,. That was the last thing he did. I don't know about the coma thing either, what's the definition are you using for coma because he wasnt out of it 24/7, the night before the release came out Jim said Freddie told him "Soon everyone will know". Now I didntb read Jim's book, all my info comes from this excerpt of something written by Jim http://queen.peoples.ru/html/archive/stati/fred_jim3.htm

imo we all know how private freddie was and i think freddie wouldn't be too happy at jim hutton writing a book about there relationship and more, ive read the book and the impression i get is that freddie wanted rid of jim on a lot of ocassions after arguements etc and even when they hadn't been fighting and he used to get mary to do the dumping but always at the last minute he felt sorry for him and changed his mind i mean freddie even moved jim out of his bedroom into a spare room permanent! so ya dont have to be einstien to figure out that the relationship was long gone!!!... jim got the same amount as (employee)peter freestone in the will half a million quid, and mary got the lot and future earnings,
that was the real love of his life.

I'm a bit confused.

I read excerpts as well from Jim's book and the part about Freddie wetting himself, and so Jim and Pheobe went to change Freddie..but Freddie had passed away already.

So wouldn't that make Jim and Pheobe the last people with Freddie?

Why do some sources say Dave Clark was the last person with Freddie?

I also have heard incorrect accounts of either Mary or Freddie's parents even being the last ones by his bedside before Freddie passed or as he passed away.

Which story is accurate?

Nobody will ever know for sure except for those who were with him.
Anyone who writes a book, knowing he was a private person, is a self serving parasite.
Nobody needs to know about Freddie's last moments. Dying is an intimate and personal event. Anyone wanting the details is a voyeur.

I know in Jim's book he says that he took Freddie to the bathroom and Freddie was cross with him and he carried him back to the bed and when he laid him down he heard a crack and Freddie went into a panic...That is such a terrible thing to think about...Freddie must have suffered terribly at the end of his life..Jim wrote about the look on Freddie's face when he died...a look of joy..I have loved queen since the seventies when I was growing up..I have just lately wondered about Freddie's life...I love the whole story behind the music stuff...It's hard to think Freddie would have been 59 years old this birthday...

Hey Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney are BOTH in their 60's, still look great, and ROCK their asses off!

That's what I would like to think Freddie would be doing if he were still alive.

Guys, we are all curious about anything that has to do with Freddie, but isn't this going a bit too far? What do we care about him going to the bathroom, about Jim and Peter changing him etc.? Personally I wouldn't like to know my friends would be discussing these things about me if I was the sick one.

And yes, if Freddie was still living he would be making the most of life, in whatever way he'd see fit. He used to say that you always need to find something new to do, to drive you forward.

Hi, I was not trying to get into personal info on Freddie...I too feel he would really be upset with his FRIENDS for telling such personal things..I just think the whole thing is sad...at least Mary stayed true...

dont worry lisa its human nature to want to know things, i'm interested in freddie's last weeks/moments to try and understand more of the true pain and suffering which he battled thru etc.. rarther than reading something like oh freddie died! but there are some people who actualy enjoy and get off on horrible/suffering stories.. so dnt worry i know where ya coming from,

yea i agree with ya, and neither were there, i read last week on a usa site that george michael was visiting freddie in his last days etc.. which is a load of crap as he only met freddie once at live-aid 2nd; at queens 20th in 1990. it just shows what stories get made up,
