I happen to like Michael Buble, NOT a lot, but he's ok for trying to be a Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick clone and keeping that type of standard music crooning singing alive.

....But Welcome To MY Nighttmare!....

Saturday night I was walking aroung Barnes and Nobles Book and Music Store. I hear what I THINK, is some awful lounge lizard trying to sing ''Crazy Little Thing Called Love'' in typical lounge lizard style over the store's PA system.

So I run to the record section, and I ask the Manager, WHO is this singing CLTCL, and on what album?

The Manager shows me a 2003 CD by Michael Buble called, ''Michael Buble'' where he does all covers.

Well, if you heard Buble's version, now I am totally open and objective to people re-interpreting a song they cover in a diffrent style.

Sometime it turns out GREAT or even BETTER than the original. This...is NOT the case.

If anyone out there has watched Saturday Night Live in its heydey when Bill Murray used to weekly do a comedy sketch about a Las Vegas motel 6 Lounge singer hamming up Frank Sinatra tunes and rock tunes, like Murray's famous lounge lizard take on Wang Chung's ''Everybody Wany Chung Tonight'' that is a classic and is hilarious.. but ON PURPOSE! You were SUPPOSED to laugh at it or rather, with it.

Michael Buble's version of CLTCL was horrifying! Like some mind control evil force infecting my brain!

The Store manager said the same thing to me and we were both cracking up and we BOTH said that whereever Freddie is, he's either having one hell of a laugh, or flipping in his grave.

Oh..the INSANITY! I kept half expecting Michael Buble to sing...a ring a ding ding!

Has anybody else out there heard it?

Yeah, it wasn't cool. Worse was that I was at a party when I first heard it and some guy genuinely thought it was an Elvis song and we had a bit of a fight over it (not a physical one). Even better was when I was proven to be right :-D

I heard Buble's version about 2 years ago on some programme like Children In Need, it's pretty good. Obviously sounds nothing like the original but still has the great bassline.

So...just because this CD came out a couple of years ago it's somehow a less than legitimate discussion? Just because she happened to hear it recently means that she shouldn't mention it here?
Better remember that in future.

There's nothing wrong with discussing the relative merits of this song here, and I never suggested there was.

It's just that Arlene always seems to present these nuggets of insight and info as if they're brand-new bits of news that nobody else here has heard about, when more often than not, they aren't.

I RESENT AND AM GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF CERTAIN PEOPLE ON QZ REGULARLY PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH OR INTENTIONS IN MY WORDS THAT ARE NOT THERE.

AGAIN, I HAVE SAID I AM NOT AN EXPERT OR AUTHORITY ON ANYTHING.

AGAIN, I HAVE SAID WHEN I FIND OUT SOMETHING THAT IS NOT NEW TO DATE, BUT NEW TO ME, THAT IS ONLY NEW TO ME...PERIOD..AND I AM BRINGING IT UP TO SHARE MY THOUGHTS NOW THAT I HAVE EXPRIENCED IT.

WHERE and WHEN buster, did and do I EVER say ON THIS THREAD OR ANY THREAD I CREATE IF THE INFORMATION IS NOT NEW information, THAT IT IS?

I ONLY said it was new TO ME, that I and ONLY I HAD JUST HEARD IT, AND I SAID THAT THE CD IS FROM.....

.....2003.

Now shut the F**K up and show me the same respect I show other people on here and stop putting words in my mouth or insinuating I meant or said something that I did not.

Hey Arlene, I did the same experience on QZ. Posted some things that were new and exciting to me (although I'm an Queen expert ;) ) and certain people started complaining because these were old news..
These people SUCK...THIS SITE HERE IS TO SHARE THOUGHTS WITH OTHER QUEEN FANS.
So FUCK all of you who are always complaining!

btw Arlene, heard Michael Buble's version of CLTCL one month ago and I hated it also ;) Although I like his style of singing and the song arrangements.

"WHERE and WHEN buster, did and do I EVER say ON THIS THREAD OR ANY THREAD I CREATE IF THE INFORMATION IS NOT NEW information, THAT IT IS?"

- This thread springs to mind, and it's only from the last 5 days:

Whilst you don't explicitly state that this is new news, that message is certainly implicit within your post.

As I stated, you "SEEM to present these nuggets of insight and info AS IF they're brand-new bits of news". Talk about what you like, it doesn't bother me. Just beware that if you suddenly latch on to a bit of 'news' you may get ribbed by others here for being late.

That the store Manager showed me the CD from..2003.

..but this was the first I had heard of it was all.

I DID state that it was ONLY NEW TO ME..so that''implicit message'' you saw was never there. Again you are putting words, meanings, insinuations into my mouth that I have not said.

Well ya learn something every day, because I did NOT know that Brian was a Star Wars fan.

As for his being in astronomy, I have friends who are professional astronomers, and they actually do NOT like Star Wars, because they take their work so SERIOUSLY and fail to enjoy the fact that Star Wars is NOT science FACT..it is science FICTION and FUN.

So I'm happy to hear Brian has a sense of adventure, imagination, and fun....and is a closet Jedi!

Nowehere in your original post on that topic did you state that it was only new to you. That's the post I was referring to, not the post made after Iron Eagle (ie not me, PG or a banned troll) pointed out that your 'news' was years, maybe even decades old.
